Effective community mobilization to eliminate temporary housing.

In 2025, the entire province was approved to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 6,928 households, including the construction of 4,525 new houses and the repair of 2,403 houses. To date, the progress of the plan is very promising, expected to be completed before August 30, 2025, meeting the set target. Many communes and towns in the districts and cities have already achieved the goal of eliminating temporary houses, such as Lang Quan and Doi Binh communes (Yen Son); Trung Ha and Yen Nguyen communes (Chiem Hoa); and Duc Ninh and Phu Luu communes (Ham Yen).

The Women's Union of Chiêm Hóa district presented financial assistance to the family of Ms. Hà Thị Huyên, from Làng Ải village, Xuân Quang commune.

Comrade Duong Thi Phuong Nhung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tam Da commune (Son Duong district), said: “In 2025, Tam Da plans to build and repair 21 houses for poor and near-poor households and families entitled to preferential policies. Therefore, from the beginning of the year, the Party Committee of the commune issued a specialized resolution on “Improving the effectiveness of the 'Skilled Mass Mobilization' emulation movement associated with eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses,” considering this a key task for the year. As a result, by the end of May 2025, the commune had completed supporting the construction and repair of 21 houses for eligible individuals.”

United in effort to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

With the coordinated efforts of the entire political system, Nang Kha commune (Na Hang district) has completed the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, with 30 houses newly built or renovated, with a total support budget of over 1.3 billion VND. On May 15, 2025, Mr. Phung Chuong Y's family, from Lung Giang village, Nang Kha commune (Na Hang district), moved into their new house, which is over 100 square meters and cost over 170 million VND. What is particularly valuable is that the house was built with 60 million VND in support from the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department. Mr. Y emotionally expressed: “Previously, my family lived in an old, dilapidated house; I myself am affected by Agent Orange/dioxin, losing 81% of my health. Now, with the support of the province, the local government, the villagers, and relatives, my family has a spacious new house. This is a great joy for me at my age and with my weak health.”

Lang Quan commune (Yen Son district) is expected to complete the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by May 2025. Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, shared: “During the implementation process, the commune has always received attention and guidance from higher levels. Thanks to this, the commune has completed 65 houses for poor, near-poor, and other eligible households, including 52 newly built houses and 13 renovated houses. In addition to the prescribed financial support of 60 million VND/house for new construction and 30 million VND/house for renovation, the commune also mobilized contributions from families and relatives; and simultaneously appealed to agencies, businesses, organizations, philanthropists, and all sectors of the population in the area to contribute over 250 million VND and 950 days of labor.”

Comrade Le Quang Toan, Vice Chairman of the Yen Son District People's Committee, said: “Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a humane policy, resolutely implemented by the entire political system in the district with the highest sense of responsibility to mobilize maximum resources to support policy beneficiary families, poor households, and disadvantaged households in building houses. The District Steering Committee has assigned relevant organizations, departments, and agencies to inspect and supervise the construction and repair of houses to ensure quality. In addition to the State's financial support, the communes have proactively mobilized additional resources, labor, materials, etc., from families, clans, and the community to support households in building houses. For households with particularly difficult circumstances who are unable to build houses themselves, the district has mobilized mass organizations and the community to work together to build houses for the people. To date, the entire district has built 1,811 houses, of which 1,170 have been completed and 641 are under construction. The district has mobilized resources.” "Over 2.2 billion VND has been mobilized from businesses, individuals, and philanthropists to support the elimination of temporary housing."

With the concerted efforts of the entire political system and the unity and solidarity of the people, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province is being accelerated, striving to achieve its goals ahead of schedule.
