Mr. Y emotionally expressed: "Previously, my family lived in an old, dilapidated house; I myself was infected with Agent Orange/dioxin, losing 81% of my health. Now with the support of the province, local authorities, villagers and relatives, my family now has a new, spacious house. This is a great joy for me when I am old and weak".
Lang Quan (Yen Son) is the commune that will complete the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in May 2025. Comrade Nguyen Van Binh, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, shared: “During the implementation process, the commune has always received attention and direction from superiors. Thanks to that, the commune has completed 65 houses for poor, near-poor households and other households, of which 52 houses were newly built and 13 houses were repaired. In addition to the prescribed support fund of 60 million VND/newly built house and 30 million VND/repaired house, the commune also mobilized families and clans to contribute; at the same time, called on agencies, businesses, units, organizations, philanthropists and people of all walks of life in the area to support over 250 million VND and 950 working days".
Comrade Le Quang Toan, Vice Chairman of Yen Son District People's Committee said: "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a humane policy, resolutely implemented by the entire political system in the district with the highest sense of responsibility to mobilize all resources to support policy families, poor households, and households in difficult circumstances to build houses. The District Steering Committee has assigned relevant organizations, departments, and offices to inspect and supervise the construction and repair of houses to ensure quality. In addition to the State's support budget, communes have proactively mobilized additional resources, labor, materials, etc. from families, clans, and communities to support households in building houses. For households in especially difficult circumstances, unable to build houses themselves, the district has mobilized mass organizations and communities to join hands in building houses for people. Up to now, the whole district has 1,811 houses built, of which 1,170 have been completed, and 641 are under construction. District mobilized over 2.2 billion VND from businesses, individuals, and philanthropists to join hands to support the elimination of temporary houses.
With the participation of the entire political system, the solidarity and consensus of the people, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province is being accelerated, striving to reach the finish line ahead of schedule.
