According to the plan, the Xay Da B Industrial Cluster will attract projects such as: garment manufacturing, textiles, weaving, embroidery, printing, and dyeing; cardboard box production; electronics; processing of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products; export goods; food production; mechanical engineering; and various supporting industries serving agricultural production. These sectors will require a large workforce, creating local jobs and eliminating the need for people to migrate for work. Once fully occupied, the Xay Da B Industrial Cluster is expected to create jobs for approximately 5,000 workers.

In particular, if businesses have the need, the industrial cluster's area can be expanded from 53.9 hectares to 75 hectares, and the number of employed workers will increase. According to Mr. Tran Van Lau, the Xay Da B Industrial Cluster project is an important and meaningful project for the locality. Once completed and operational, the project will contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of Chau Thanh district and Soc Trang province. When the project becomes operational, it will create momentum and facilitate Chau Thanh district in attracting investors to the new Xay Da B Industrial Cluster.

Comrade Lam Van Man, Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee, stated that the Tran De Industrial Park has a very favorable location, situated next to the Southern Hau River National Highway, bordering the sea and Tran De Port, making connections with other provinces and cities easy. In particular, after the completion of phase 1 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, the Dai Ngai bridge, and especially the Tran De seaport, it will create momentum and strength for the Tran De Industrial Park in attracting domestic and foreign investors. The comprehensive transportation network, connecting both road and waterway, optimizes logistics costs and effectively supports the investment, production, and business activities of enterprises within the industrial park. The Tran De Industrial Park is planned to be located in the center of a region with abundant raw materials for aquaculture, aquaculture, and fishing from the sea, providing raw materials for the food processing industry.

Furthermore, Soc Trang has over 1.2 million inhabitants, with a high proportion of the population in the working age group, resulting in an abundant supply of unskilled labor that can meet the needs of businesses if they invest in production and business in the industrial park.

According to Comrade Lam Van Man, the Tran De Industrial Park is a very important project, receiving close attention and guidance from the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee. Once completed and operational, the industrial park will create jobs for approximately 15,000 local workers. Despite the challenging conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic and material shortages, the investor has implemented many positive solutions and has now completed the infrastructure construction as approved. "When the secondary projects are completed and put into operation, the Xay Da B Industrial Cluster is expected to create jobs for approximately 10,000 workers, contributing to increased industrial production value and socio-economic development of the locality," Comrade Lam Van Man added.

Besides the Xay Da B Industrial Cluster, the An Nghiep Industrial Park (An Hiep commune, Chau Thanh district) is currently fully occupied by secondary investors, providing employment for approximately 22,000 workers. The Tran De Industrial Park, after the completion of its technical infrastructure, is expected to create jobs for around 15,000 workers. It is known that the projected land lease price at the Tran De Industrial Park will range from 85-90 USD/m2 from now until 2069. Currently, the Tran De Industrial Park Management Board has granted investment certificates to two secondary investors in the field of building materials and concrete components production. In addition, several investors in the fields of seafood processing, footwear, garment manufacturing, and packaging production are also interested in investing in the Tran De Industrial Park.

Besides the two projects mentioned above, there are currently many large projects in Soc Trang province that impact the socio-economic development of the locality and the region, such as: the Tran De Deepwater Port project, planned offshore to serve as the gateway port of the Mekong Delta region, receiving ships with a tonnage of up to 5,000 DWT for inland berths; general cargo and container ships with a tonnage of up to 100,000 DWT or larger when conditions permit, and bulk cargo ships with a tonnage of up to 160,000 DWT offshore at Tran De estuary; the Dai Ngai 2 Bridge project (part of the Dai Ngai Bridge project crossing the Hau River, connecting Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces), which was technically opened to traffic on April 30, 2025; the Component 4 of the expressway project (Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang road) is currently being implemented; and the East-West Economic Development Axis road project with a total investment of 2,000 billion VND and a length of 56.678 km.

Upon completion, the project will connect the western region of Soc Trang province with the provinces of Bac Lieu, Hau Giang, Can Tho, and Ca Mau via National Highway 1 and Quan Lo Phung Hiep, creating horizontal transportation axes linking agricultural and forestry economic zones and meeting the transportation and goods delivery needs of local people. This will contribute to promoting production and business activities and improving the lives of rural people in the province.

According to Dr. Tran Khac Tam, Chairman of the Soc Trang Provincial Business Association, the province has many advantages and potentials in various fields such as industry, seaports, logistics, and renewable energy, attracting many domestic and foreign investors to Soc Trang to seek opportunities for cooperation and development. By the end of 2024, the province's economic growth rate reached 7.07% (equivalent to the national economic growth rate). In 2025, the province aims to achieve a growth target of 8%. In recent years, Soc Trang has become a destination for many large domestic and foreign investors. This shows that the investment potential in the province is very large.

With the completion of infrastructure, regional expressways, and the Trần Đề mega-port project nearing completion, Sóc Trăng and other provinces in the Mekong Delta have even more room for overall development. Furthermore, thanks to the decisive leadership of the provincial authorities, in recent years, administrative procedures have been simplified, creating a transparent and favorable business environment for enterprises…
