Tay Ninh attracts tourists with a series of experiences when conquering Ba Den mountain peak, along with other activities imbued with Southern culture.
Known as the "roof of Southern Vietnam," Mount Ba Den is associated with the legend of Linh Son Thanh Mau and boasts a diverse range of spiritual destinations such as temples, hermitages, caves, and shrines. However, besides its sacredness, Mount Ba Den in particular and Tay Ninh in general also offer many unique experiences for visitors from all over.

Tourist Pham Anh Hoa (Quang Ninh) said that to conquer the summit of Ba Den Mountain, she and her family traveled from Van Don Airport to Ho Chi Minh City and then by car to Tay Ninh City, nearly 100 km away. Her journey took almost 6 hours for a distance of approximately 1,800 km. Ms. Hoa shared that because she missed the opportunity to visit Ba Den Mountain earlier this year, she made an effort to arrange her work schedule to come to Ba Den Mountain and participate in the major festival on the occasion of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara's birthday.
"Mixing in with the crowds who came to listen to the Dharma talk, the sacred atmosphere of the festival along with thousands of lanterns on the mountaintop gave me a feeling of peace and tranquility," said Ms. Hoa.
Like Ms. Hoa, many tourists choose Mount Ba Den (Tay Ninh) as a spiritual destination each year to worship, make pilgrimages, and enjoy the scenery of this sacred land. In the first three months of 2023, more than 2.5 million visitors came to Tay Ninh. The locality is also among the new destinations suggested by the travel website Vietnam Nomad .

According to Hai An (Ho Chi Minh City), the "key" to attracting tourists to Ba Den Mountain is the Sun World Ba Den Mountain spiritual tourism complex, with its cool climate and picturesque scenery. A highlight is the majestic bronze statue of the Goddess of Mercy at the summit. In the center of the complex is a cluster of five pillars made of black granite, carved with 12,000 Tibetan Buddhist scriptures and gilded with gold.

At the foot of the giant Buddha statue is an exhibition area featuring hundreds of statues, paintings, and reliefs reflecting the distinct styles of Vietnamese Buddhism throughout different periods. Alongside this is modern video mapping technology showcasing the workings of the universe. Here, visitors can see replicas of classic Buddhist artworks, including many famous Buddha statues from Vietnam and around the world, and venerate the Buddha's relics shining brightly in the majestic setting.
The artworks are inspired by ancient artifacts from Buddhist architecture made of wood and stone dating from the 11th to the 13th centuries.
A representative from Sun World Ba Den Mountain stated that the tourist area focuses on preserving the cultural identity and local characteristics of Tay Ninh province, thereby effectively attracting tourists.
Many activities typical of Southern Vietnam.
Having had the opportunity to visit Ba Den Mountain during the recent April 30th holiday, Mr. Le Thanh Son (Hanoi) said that Tay Ninh had not previously been on his list of tourist destinations, but upon learning about the traditional folk music festival, he and his friends decided to come and enjoy it.
"This land has changed a lot; it's not just a spiritual destination anymore. Tay Ninh is becoming a unique cultural tourism destination with many fascinating experiences," said Mr. Son.

Spiritual tourism is not the only reason many people choose to visit here. Besides famous destinations like Ba Den Mountain, the Cao Dai Holy See, or Go Ken Pagoda, Tay Ninh is also investing in developing cultural tourism with a series of attractive festivals such as the Ba Den Mountain Spring Festival at the beginning of the year, the vegetarian food festival, the Quan The Am Bodhisattva festival, and the upcoming Ba Den Festival, which is recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.
Possessing eight intangible cultural heritage sites, Tay Ninh is one of the few localities in the Southern region with a distinctive cultural and spiritual life. The most well-known cultural heritage sites here include the art of Cai Luong (traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music) and the Chhay Dam drum dance, characteristic of Khmer culture, all of which are being uniquely recreated in festivals at Ba Den Mountain.

"If properly developed, these will be unique and distinctive tourism products of Tay Ninh, attracting tourists to come and experience them. In addition, more large-scale entertainment, ecotourism, and resort facilities need to be added to create key tourism products that attract Vietnamese and international tourists," a representative from Sun World Ba Den Mountain shared.
