Every year, the Vietnam Journalists Association of the province regularly visits and gives gifts to the families of martyr journalists.
In Long An , during the two resistance wars against colonialism and imperialism and the war to protect the southwestern border, many reporters fought side by side with the armed forces, directly recording and reflecting the indomitable fighting spirit of our army and people. Many of them fell while carrying out their propaganda missions. The NBLS wrote history with their own pens and blood.
Remembering that sacrifice, in recent years, press agencies in the province have paid attention to performing gratitude work, including visiting and encouraging the relatives of the NBLS .
The gratitude activities were organized thoughtfully and solemnly, expressing the affection and responsibility of today's generation of journalists towards their predecessors.
Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association of the province, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station - Chau Hong Kha said: “Long An has 19 journalists who heroically sacrificed their lives during the resistance wars and wars to protect the Fatherland. In order to show gratitude to the journalists who have devoted themselves to the revolutionary cause, every year, on holidays and Tet, we organize delegations to offer incense in memory, visit and give gifts to the families of the journalists. This is an activity that demonstrates the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source"; at the same time, it adds confidence and motivation to the team of journalists today on the path of continuing the tradition of revolutionary journalism".
A century has passed but the mark of the NBLS is still present in the history of Vietnam's revolutionary press. Gratitude is not only shown in gifts and greetings but also in the commitment of today's generation of journalists to uphold professional ethics, cultivate political courage and continue to serve the country with honest and humane writing.
Reporter Thanh My (Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station) shared: “Journalism is a special profession, requiring skills, perseverance, courage and a sense of responsibility to society.
Over the years in the profession, I have come to appreciate more and more the values that previous generations of journalists have left behind, especially the NBLS. For me, gratitude is not just a ritual on the anniversary but something I carry with me in my thoughts and during my career. It is also the motivation for me to maintain professional ethics and continue to do my job properly.”
From the stories of previous generations, today's journalists increasingly realize their responsibility is not only to report and reflect events but also to maintain professional ethics, train political qualities, and constantly improve their professional qualifications to be worthy of the tradition of revolutionary journalism.
Reporter Anh Thu (Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television) expressed: "Looking at the photos, relics and listening to the stories from the relatives of the martyrs, I believe that journalism is both a propaganda work, bringing news to all people, and contributing to the flow of history and the times. I and the generations of journalists today will follow in the footsteps of the previous generation, forever keeping the flame of passion and engrave the ethics of journalism, because every word written is a responsibility to the truth, to the people and to the profession we pursue."
Grateful to the NBLS, those working in the profession today vow to live and write worthy of what the previous generation has left behind. Respecting the past and preserving historical values is the foundation for the press to continue to innovate, accompanying the country on the journey of building and protecting the Fatherland in the era of digital transformation and globalization./.
