Sharing his motivation for the profession, Mr. Phuong said: "My greatest joy is not in the title, but in seeing patients and their families recover and smile again." Some cases have lasted for months, even years; some patients were once at a dead end, lost their way, but after treatment, they gradually opened up, learned to love themselves and their families more. Each time he witnesses these positive changes, Mr. Phuong gains more motivation to stay committed to the profession for the long term.
Not only is Mr. Phuong dedicated to his profession, but he also actively participates in parish activities and service. Having received formal training in the Bible and catechism, he quickly developed a deep sense of responsibility to accompany the Church and the community. Currently, he collaborates with the priests of Binh Quan and Trung Luong parishes in teaching catechism to children and marriage and family catechism classes. These lectures not only impart knowledge but also incorporate life skills, parenting skills, and building happy families.

Mr. Marcel Tran Van Phuong participates in teaching catechism at Binh Quan Parish.
In addition, Mr. Phuong actively participates in emulation movements launched by the local authorities. From competitions to contribute ideas for building his hometown, creating radio programs on traffic safety, to writing articles promoting innovative service styles in the medical field, all bear the mark of a responsible citizen and a devout Catholic living his faith in the world. For him, participating in these movements is not about seeking recognition, but about a practical way to contribute a small part to overall development.
In 2023, he was honored to receive a Certificate of Commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for winning third prize in the economic field in the "Voters Contribute Ideas to Build the Homeland" campaign. According to Mr. Phuong, to spread the spirit of living a "good life and upholding moral values," it is not necessary to do great things, but to start with ordinary things such as living honestly, responsibly, knowing how to love and share in daily life.
Actively cooperate with local authorities.
In Thu Thua Parish (Thu Thua Commune), over the years, Catholic parishioners have actively collaborated with the local government in patriotic emulation movements. The campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" has received a positive response from the parish council, sub-parish councils, and a large number of parishioners. Many households have voluntarily donated land and dismantled fences and structures to expand rural roads, creating favorable conditions for travel and trade.
Ms. Le Thi Kim Hoa (residing in Thu Thua commune) expressed: “Previously, the road was narrow and very difficult to travel on. When the local authorities campaigned to widen the road, everyone agreed and readily donated land and dismantled fences to make way for the road. We suffered a little loss, but the whole village benefited, and our children and grandchildren had an easier time going to school and work.”
In 2025, the Thu Thua Catholic Solidarity Committee mobilized parishioners to contribute to supporting people in Central Vietnam affected by rain, storms, and floods; donated Mid-Autumn Festival gifts, notebooks, and books to students; provided gifts to people in need; and contributed to repairing rural roads with a budget of over 370 million VND.
Nguyen Thu Lan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thu Thua commune, said: “Catholic people in the commune always strictly abide by the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; actively participate in patriotic emulation movements. These contributions have played an important role in maintaining national unity and building a more developed homeland.”

Provincial leaders visit and extend Christmas greetings at Phong Coc Parish (Chau Thanh commune).
Not only in Thu Thua Parish, but the spirit of living a "good life and upholding moral values" has also spread deeply and widely in Phong Coc Parish (Chau Thanh Commune). With over 4,000 parishioners, the community here has always been closely connected and supportive of the locality through many specific and practical activities over the years. Besides preserving their faith, the parishioners of Phong Coc Parish always set a good example in complying with the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws; actively participating in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the locality.

The rural road project was built with the joint contributions of the Catholic community in Thu Thua commune.

Their positive contributions to practicing a civilized lifestyle, upholding the law, and maintaining security and order are clear evidence of their spirit of living a "good life and a beautiful faith," contributing to building a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Tay Ninh homeland.
