The Lang Son Living Blood Bank Club was established in January 2022 with over 40 members. To date, the club has grown to over 210 members from various professions such as doctors, police officers, soldiers, teachers, officials, civil servants, and freelancers. What unites the members is not their profession or age, but a shared belief: "When patients need blood, if we are healthy enough, we are ready to be there." Therefore, members not only participate in blood donation programs and events but also donate blood promptly when there is an emergency.

For us, every unit of blood represents a patient's chance of survival and the hope of an entire family. Therefore, the club always focuses on raising awareness among its members about blood donation, maintaining good health, and ensuring safe blood donation practices, while also encouraging relatives and friends to participate. Since its establishment, the club's members have donated over 400 units of blood, including nearly 30 volunteers who have donated blood in emergencies, providing timely support to many critically ill patients.

As the Secretary of the Youth Union branch, I determined that I had to set an example first to convince others. To date, I have donated blood 13 times. During blood donation drives, I always arrive early to support the preparation work, guide the procedures, and encourage first-time participants.

In my opinion, for grassroots movements to be effective, general mobilization is not enough. Officials must understand the psychology of each individual, explain things clearly, and always stand alongside the people. When one person takes the lead, those around them will gain more confidence, thereby spreading the spirit of sharing throughout the community. The certificates of commendation from the district level (in 2021) and from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dinh Lap commune recently are great encouragement for me to continue this meaningful journey.

A family united by a shared heart of compassion.

My wife and I joined the voluntary blood donation movement with a very simple thought: while we are still healthy, donating some of our blood can save a patient's life in critical condition. Initially, it was just me participating, but then my wife joined us. The more we became involved, the more we realized that donating blood not only helps others but also helps us live more responsibly towards the community. From 2017 to the present, my wife and I have donated blood more than 30 times. Whether it's a mass blood donation drive or an emergency case when the Provincial General Hospital urgently needs blood, as long as we are healthy enough, we are always ready to arrange our work schedules to be there promptly.

Our greatest joy is the change in the perceptions of those around us. Seeing that my wife and I have been donating blood for many years and are still healthy and doing well at work, our relatives and friends have overcome their hesitation. From there, we have more motivation to encourage our relatives and neighbors to register for blood donation.

The certificates of commendation awarded to individuals and families by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Labor Union, and related units are a great honor. But above all, the most meaningful reward for us is being able to contribute a small part to the journey of spreading the spirit of compassion in the community.
