Diversified economic development

One of the city’s strengths is that it has two industrial parks, Long Khanh and Suoi Tre, which have come into operation, attracting 63 investors with a total lease area of over 270 hectares, creating jobs for about 23,000 workers in the locality and neighboring areas. The city also added the planning for the Hang Gon Industrial Park with an area of about 300 hectares and the Hang Gon Industrial Cluster with an area of about 70 hectares.

Besides concentrated industry, Long Khanh is a locality with great potential in developing agriculture and local specialty varieties; thereby mobilizing investment resources for processing agricultural products; exporting key products such as durian, rambutan, grapefruit, jackfruit... Up to now, the city has 29 products that have been awarded OCOP (One Commune One Product) certification by the Provincial People's Committee at the provincial level, including 2 products with 4-star OCOP certification and 27 products with 3-star OCOP certification.

The company is making efforts to diversify processed products from fruits, vegetables, and tubers, in addition to the main product line of dried jackfruit. In addition to the domestic market and exporting to China, the company is working with a number of partners specializing in exporting to markets such as Europe, Japan, Korea, etc.

Along with the development of industrial and agricultural production, trade and services have also developed quite well. The city is determined to be a center of trade, services, goods trading, agricultural product warehousing, and agricultural eco-tourism. Therefore, in the future, there will be much potential for the development of green industry, trade, and green services to serve the needs of the people as well as factories and businesses.

According to Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Long Khanh City People's Committee Do Chanh Quang, in recent years, the city has achieved encouraging progress in the fields of socio-economic development, improving people's lives. The economic structure has shifted positively, towards industrialization, modernization, improving efficiency in each industry and field, the economic growth rate has always been maintained at a high level.

Long Khanh City is identified as the core urban area, the center of the eastern region of Dong Nai. The province as well as the city have focused on investing and attracting resources to create new development advantages for Long Khanh.

The advantages for the future of Long Khanh include being the traffic gateway of the region, connecting with the Southeast and Central Highlands regions through the North-South railway, National Highway 1, National Highway 56, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway, in the future there will be Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway and Highway 770B connecting with Long Thanh Airport... These factors create the position of a traffic hub, connecting the region of Long Khanh, which is the driving force for attracting investment and development in the following period.

Vice President of Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association, Chairman of the Board of Directors of 939 Investment and Trade Joint Stock Company Nguyen Duy Khuong commented that Long Khanh land in the future has a lot of potential and motivation for development. The city is improving day by day with the appearance of an ecological, livable urban area and that is also a place that the business community is very interested in. When investing in production and business projects here, businesses wish to accompany, support, and connect for mutual development. At the same time, businesses will exploit the potential and advantages to invest, serving the socio-economic goals of the province and city.

Chairman of Long Khanh City People's Committee Do Chanh Quang added that to create momentum for development, the city has invested in building, upgrading and renovating many urban traffic routes to create a spacious urban appearance. In particular, the underground infrastructure system of Hung Vuong Street has been completed and Hoang Dieu and Nguyen Van Cu Streets are being undergrounded. In addition, the city is also implementing social housing projects to contribute to solving the housing needs of low-income people in the city, especially workers, helping them settle down.
