Grassroots Trade Union (GC) cadres are the support and representative to protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, and play an important role in the development and strength of the trade union organization, are the "bridge" between the Party and the masses, between employers and workers, and are the companions of the union members in successfully carrying out assigned tasks. They are an important factor contributing to the building of an increasingly strong and developed trade union organization.

At Hoang Minh Water Joint Stock Company (Duc Lap commune, Tay Ninh province), when mentioning the Vice Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union, Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong, many employees know her for her approachability, sincerity, and dedication to the collective. Despite being busy with her professional work, she still devotes her heart and soul to trade union activities, considering it a common home where each employee can share, be listened to, and feel connected.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong has worked at Hoang Minh Water Joint Stock Company since 2020, joining the Trade Union Executive Committee immediately upon joining the company. In 2021, she was entrusted with the position of Vice President of the Trade Union. Becoming a trade union official seems to have been a stroke of luck for her, given her many years of prior experience in trade union work.

Upon joining Hoang Minh Water Joint Stock Company, she continued to choose to work alongside the Trade Union because she wanted to contribute and act as a "bridge" between the management and the employees. This was also because she understood the crucial role of the organization in representing and protecting the rights of employees.

“Becoming a trade union official has given me the opportunity to listen to and share more with fellow workers, while also cultivating a sense of responsibility, organizational skills, and team cohesion. Most importantly, I feel that my contributions are truly meaningful when they bring joy and peace of mind to union members,” Ms. Huong shared.

To build close relationships with the workers, Ms. Huong chose to be a part of their lives. She not only listened and chatted about work-related matters, but also readily participated in activities, shared joys and sorrows with everyone. A word of encouragement when someone faced difficulties, a visit when a colleague was ill – these seemingly small things – contributed to creating a strong and lasting bond.

Regarding the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong emphasizes building a working spirit based on dialogue and consensus, because, according to her: "When everyone shares the same goal and leverages their strengths, the Executive Committee will be united, cohesive, and the trade union's activities will certainly be more effective."

In her dual role as Head of Administration and Human Resources and Vice President of the Trade Union, Ms. Huong is committed to advising and proposing comprehensive policies to protect and care for workers.

Besides essential benefits such as salary, welfare, allowances, and insurance, she also focuses on factors related to the company's development direction: becoming an "attractive and proud workplace."

Accordingly, she advised on the following: building a cohesive, respectful, and creative work environment where every employee feels heard and valued; ensuring a safe, modern, and convenient production environment that best serves both work and life.

Furthermore, Ms. Huong suggested creating opportunities for employees to participate in training programs, capacity building, and community and social activities. This is a way for each individual to not only enhance their own value but also spread the company's positive messages to the community.

Through her own efforts, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong and the Executive Committee have implemented many practical welfare programs such as: visiting and providing timely support to members facing difficulties; organizing monthly birthday celebrations for members; family days, team building activities, vacations, cultural events, sports , etc., for workers to participate in. These activities not only bring joy to workers but also increase cohesion and team spirit.

In addition, Ms. Huong always plays the role of a "bridge," promptly listening to, reflecting on, and coordinating with the Board of Directors to resolve issues related to employees' rights and working conditions, helping employees feel secure and committed to the company in the long term.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong shared her feelings: “For me, the trade union is not just an organization representing the rights of workers, but has truly become a common home for the collective workforce. I dedicate a lot of passion and affection to trade union activities because I believe that every act of care and every timely policy can bring joy, motivation, and peace of mind to workers. In particular, I am greatly influenced by my father – an exemplary Party member, official, and civil servant, and also the chairman of the grassroots trade union at his workplace. Since childhood, I have witnessed how my father lived wholeheartedly for the collective, diligently protecting the rights of workers. That shining example and value have gradually permeated me, nurturing my feelings, responsibility, and pride in being involved in trade union activities.”

When asked about the "secret" to effective union activities, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong said it all boils down to three things: "Listen - Share - Act." Listening to understand the thoughts and aspirations of union members; sharing to create cohesion and spread the spirit of companionship; and taking practical and timely action, transforming concern into concrete results.

With her dedication, responsibility, and affection for the workers, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Huong has been making a significant contribution to building the Trade Union of Hoang Minh Water Joint Stock Company into a reliable support system and a common home for the workers.

Having been involved in trade union activities for nearly 20 years, Phan Thi Ngoc Linh, Chairwoman of the Trade Union Branch of Sheen Bridge Co., Ltd. (Can Giuoc commune), has always been close to and wholeheartedly dedicated to union members and workers, contributing to leading the grassroots trade union to effectively fulfill its role in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.

Being dynamic, eager to learn, and fond of group activities, Ms. Linh developed a fondness for trade union activities from the very beginning. The more she participated, the more she loved it, because she was involved in many meaningful activities, especially those caring for the lives of union members and employees of the company.

"Speaking about the activities of the trade union organization, for me, it's a source of pride. I thank the trade union for giving me the opportunity to do meaningful and practical things in caring for and protecting union members and workers. I believe that this is not only a joy for me but also for all trade union officials," Ms. Linh shared.

Ms. Linh consistently prioritizes and effectively carries out the task of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees. This is clearly demonstrated through the regulations on grassroots democracy, collective labor agreements with clauses beneficial to employees, employee conference resolutions, and regular dialogue meetings. She always monitors and urges the company to comply with legal regulations on labor contracts, health insurance, social insurance, unemployment insurance, etc., especially in the work of disseminating and advising on legal matters to union members and workers; caring for, assisting, and visiting union members and employees in difficult circumstances; organizing activities to care for their well-being; and contributing to creating a safe and favorable working environment for union members and employees.

Ms. Linh said: “For me, taking care of the lives of union members and employees is not just about income, but also about building a united and humane working environment – ​​where each member feels cared for, supported, and encouraged by the trade union and the company.”

In addition to being the Chairperson of the Trade Union, Ms. Phan Thi Ngoc Linh is also the Head of the Women's Affairs Committee of the Trade Union and the Head of Human Resources at Sheen Bridge Co., Ltd., thus having more favorable conditions to care for union members and employees. She is always close to and regularly seeks to understand the thoughts and aspirations of union members and employees, especially female union members and employees, in order to promptly resolve any difficulties in the work process.

Thanks to their dynamism, creativity, and enthusiasm, the grassroots trade union officials have been successfully fulfilling their mission of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers within the trade union organization.
