During many terms, the leaders of Dong Xoai city have always recognized and assessed the completion of infrastructure and traffic connections as the lifeblood of the economy and a key task. But the problem for many generations of leaders is that resources are limited but the construction needs are great. Realizing the need to further promote mass mobilization work to help people understand, trust, and work with the government to build a green, clean, and beautiful city, in 2021, the City Party Committee and People's Committee of Dong Xoai city launched the movement "City work, village work, golden land also donated" to carry out traffic works and projects. The movement has truly changed the city's landscape, significantly improving people's lives.

“The city budget is limited, so the implementation of the clever mass mobilization program “City affairs, village affairs, even golden land is donated” is extremely important. Firstly, it saves budget expenditures for compensation and site clearance. Secondly, it mobilizes social resources for development investment” - Mr. Ngo Hong Khang, Vice Chairman of Dong Xoai City People's Committee shared.

After 4 years of responding to this movement, households in Dong Xoai city have donated more than 115 hectares of land to build traffic routes, equivalent to about 926 billion VND, some households are willing to donate ^7,000m2 of inner-city land, worth 20 billion VND. As a result, 199km of various types of traffic routes have been mobilized for site clearance and many roads have been opened.

Responding to this movement, the most typical is Mr. Nguyen Huu Day's family in Thanh Binh quarter, Tan Binh ward, Dong Xoai city. In 2022, Mr. Day's family donated 7,000m2 ^of land and voluntarily dismantled and relocated 2 level 4 houses, with a total value of about 20 billion VND, to hand over to the city to implement the construction of Phan Boi Chau road. Mr. Day is also the only individual in Binh Phuoc province and one of 68 individuals nationwide to be commended by the Party and State as typical examples in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in 2023 and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister for his many contributions to the construction of welfare works in the province.

Mr. Tran Quoc Viet's family in Tan Tra 2 Quarter, Tan Binh Ward also agreed to donate nearly 4,900 ^{square meters} of land to open the southern beltway of Dong Xoai City. This is a very important route, connecting National Highway 14 with DT741, to reduce traffic in and out of the inner city. Talking about his work, Mr. Viet said: "When opening the road, my family also benefits economically, and there is a road for people to travel, in general, both the State and the people benefit. Therefore, the family agreed."

Mr. Phung Van He's family in Ward 5, Tien Thanh Ward, volunteered to donate 3,000 square meters of rubber land that was being harvested for the State to build a road. After donating the land, he hired someone to cut down the trees and hand over the land so that the city could soon implement the road. Not only did he "lose" the land, but each year his family also "lost" nearly 20 million VND from tapping rubber latex on the donated land. Mr. He shared that for the common benefit of the people and the desire for the project to be completed soon to have a spacious road, making it convenient for people to travel, his family was willing to donate the land.

"Sweet fruit" from the Party's will - the people's heart

When "Party's will - people's heart" were in harmony, not only the movement to asphalt rural roads but also the province's key projects had consensus.

Phu Rieng - a district established last in Binh Phuoc province, therefore, the need for infrastructure construction, especially roads for economic development is very large. The district has built 16 key traffic projects, both connecting regions and contributing to breaking the monopoly of some roads to connect villages and communes. To implement this policy, it is very difficult to rely only on the budget. Therefore, over the past years, Phu Rieng district has determined to use people's strength to benefit the people. Propaganda and mobilization work to help people understand and agree to donate land has been effectively implemented by all levels, sectors and localities. Since then, people's strength has been mobilized and the site clearance has been mobilized for 13 traffic road construction projects with a total of 1,778 households donating land, with a total recovered area of ​​85.2 hectares. The roads "Party's will - people's heart" have been formed, changing the face of Phu Rieng countryside in the joy of the people.

With the determination to reach the new rural area by 2025, Phu Rieng district has focused on investing in key projects and works since 2020. The goal is to plan and invest in building infrastructure for commune centers within the scope and actual conditions of the district. Up to now, Phu Rieng district has invested in building 10 cement concrete bridges and more than 341km of various types of roads, with a total cost of 1,620.966 billion VND. Mobilizing 2,476 households to donate land to clear the ground for the construction of 17 traffic works with 2,817 plots, 179.35 hectares of recovered land. Many roads have been upgraded, expanded and renewed such as Bu Nho - Phuoc Tan, Binh Son - Long Hung, Phu Trung - Phuoc Tan, etc.

Transport is the driving force of development

Implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW of the Politburo on regional development, Binh Phuoc identified investment in transport as a driving force for socio-economic development and to attract investment. Therefore, since the beginning of the term, the Provincial Party Committee has developed many resolutions to prioritize resources for this field. Thanks to that, up to now, the province's transport appearance has developed remarkably, with synchronous and modern connections.

If in 1997, Binh Phuoc province only had about 103 routes with a total length of more than 1,200km, of which 84% were red gravel roads and dirt roads, then up to now, the whole province has 2,855 routes, with a total length of more than 9,110km. In particular, the main traffic routes with the highlight being 3 national highways passing through the province with a total length of 228.9km. In addition, the provincial road system has also been built synchronously, including 15 routes, with a total length of 544.18km; district roads and main routes to communes and towns are 100% asphalted...

A new spring is coming, bringing with it the faith and aspirations of the projects that have been and are being built. There are roads that stretch as far as the eye can see, and there are roads that are only a few hundred meters long, but all will last over the years because they are projects that “follow the will of the people, come from the will of the people”… The joint efforts and unanimity of the Party Committee, the government and the people in the province have been creating spring right from the roads.
