The children in Ta So

The natural beauty, the images of villages, and the lives of the ethnic minorities in the highlands of Northwest Vietnam captivate many photographers not only because of the pristine and picturesque scenery, but also because of the innocent children with their clear eyes and bright smiles.

No matter where they are, children captivate photographers, who tirelessly click their cameras. They laugh and talk innocently, carefree amidst the vicissitudes of life.

Author Duy Anh Nguyen Tran submitted a photo series titled “Children in Ta So ” to the Organizing Committee of the “Happy Vietnam 2025” Award . The photos were taken by the author in Son La province.

Highland children with innocent, naive eyes and adorable expressions gather around Ta So rock, like a gateway to a village located in Chieng Hac commune, Moc Chau district, Son La province (formerly). Tourists visiting Ta So village or Hang Tau often hear about this place and want to check in, because of its majestic scenery and the easy sight of little girls carrying baskets of flowers on their backs.

We invite readers and photographers from Vietnam and abroad to continue submitting their photos and videos to participate in the "Happy Vietnam 2025" Award. The award is organized by... The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Vietnam Television, organized this event . The aim was to continue introducing and promoting the image of Vietnam, its people, cultural values, and natural beauty throughout the country; to awaken national pride and self-respect, and to inspire a desire for development among all segments of the Vietnamese population, so that they can work together to build a more prosperous, thriving, and happy Vietnam.

Submission deadline: From May 22, 2025 to September 30, 2025. Entries can be submitted online at : https://happy.vietnam.vn  

Eligible participants: Vietnamese citizens and foreigners aged 15 and above.

The awards consist of two categories: photos and videos .

Each competition category (photos and videos) will have one First Prize worth VND 50,000,000, two Second Prizes worth VND 30,000,000, three Third Prizes worth VND 15,000,000, ten Consolation Prizes worth VND 5,000,000, and one Most Voted Award worth VND 5,000,000.

The organizers encourage and will award a creative prize of VND 20,000,000 in each category (photos and videos) to works with new and creative ideas in terms of content and presentation.

In addition, the organizing committee will award monthly prizes, including first, second, and third prizes, to the works with the highest number of votes in each category each month.

The judging panel selected the winners through two rounds of preliminary and final judging, conducted both online and in person.
