At the technical area, where the 1st Battalion conducted training on "Firearms," officers, members, and youth union members, in their roles as vehicle commanders, drivers, and loaders, actively and voluntarily studied the features, functions, and structure of various weapons and equipment according to their assigned responsibilities and duties.

Upon investigation, we learned that to improve training quality, the Youth Union of Brigade 405 has implemented the "Model Youth Tank Crew" model in recent years, setting high standards for training and discipline. Major Ngo Duy Truong, Secretary of the Youth Union of Battalion 1, said: "Based on the characteristics and tasks, the branches select outstanding officers and Youth Union members, then form at least one exemplary 'model tank crew'. The outstanding achievements and results of the 'model tank crew' will motivate other tank crews to learn from and emulate them, thereby spreading more exemplary tank crews within the unit."

In recent times, the youth union activities and youth movements of Brigade 405 have been implemented vigorously and comprehensively, focusing on successfully completing the central political tasks with many models and movements maintained in a consistent and orderly manner. Notable examples include: in training and combat readiness, there are models such as: "Exemplary Youth Vehicle Crew," "Excellent Training and High Combat Readiness Youth Union Branch"; and in building discipline and training, there is the "5 No's" movement (No use of stimulants; no smoking; no loitering in shops or using vulgar language; no disciplinary violations; no violations of social vices and traffic safety laws).

To ensure that youth activities are effective and avoid formality and half-heartedness, the Youth Union branch of Brigade 405 concretizes the movements and campaigns launched by the Party Committee, government, and higher-level Youth Union organizations into models and movements with specific, practical action programs and plans, suitable to the characteristics and tasks of each agency and unit.

Lieutenant Colonel Ung Dinh Duy, Deputy Head of Political Affairs and Secretary of the Youth Union of Brigade 405, stated: “We focus on improving the capacity and skills of our Youth Union cadres in organizing Youth Union activities and youth movements; conducting periodic reviews, summaries, and lessons learned; commending and rewarding cadres, Youth Union members, and Youth Union organizations that are actively involved; and frankly criticizing individuals and Youth Union organizations that operate ineffectively or superficially. This has revitalized the models and contributed to ‘keeping the flame alive’ so that the movement can continue for a long time.”

Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Bo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Brigade 405, affirmed: “The movements are implemented not in a scattered manner but closely follow the key tasks of each agency and unit, in accordance with practical needs and the psychology of the soldiers, thus attracting a large number of Youth Union members to participate. Thanks to the practical results in the activities, the Brigade's Youth Union was awarded the Flag of "Outstanding Unit in Youth Union Work and Youth Movement in 2024" by the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, contributing to the Brigade being awarded the Flag of Excellence in the Emulation Movement of the 3rd Military Region in 2024.”
