Quang Chieu Border Guard Station handed over a house to the family of Major Thao Van Va, a reconnaissance officer at Quang Chieu Border Guard Station.
We had the opportunity to attend the inauguration and handover ceremony of the "Comrade's House" in Com village, Pu Nhi commune (Muong Lat district), organized by the Quang Chieu Border Guard Station in coordination with the local Party committee and government, to a soldier in difficult circumstances. The house was handed over to the family of Major Thao Van Va, a professional soldier currently working as a reconnaissance officer at the Quang Chieu Border Guard Station. Major Thao Van Va is of the Mong ethnic group, and his family is facing difficulties, caring for elderly parents and his wife is unemployed. The house, with an area of nearly 88 square meters, was built and completed with 80 million VND in support from the Ministry of National Defense , the Border Guard, the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group, and with assistance from the officers and soldiers of the Quang Chieu Border Guard Station.
In the spacious new house, from early morning, a large number of villagers, local Party committee members, government officials, and officers and soldiers from the unit gathered to celebrate with the family. Unable to hide his joy, Major Thao Van Va, a professional soldier, said: “Without the help of my comrades, I don't know when my family would have been able to have a new house like this today. This is not only material support but also a great source of encouragement and motivation, helping me to focus on my work.”
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Huy, Deputy Political Officer of Quang Chieu Border Guard Station, affirmed that this gift has profound significance, demonstrating the concern of commanders at all levels for the officers and soldiers in the unit. The handover of the "Comrade's House" is a great source of encouragement for the family of Major Thao Van Va, a professional soldier, helping the family to quickly stabilize their lives and continue to contribute and perform their assigned duties well.
In Dinh Hoa commune (Yen Dinh district), Brigade 161, Region 3 of the Navy, also held a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over a house to the family of Senior Lieutenant Hoang Van Tung, a professional soldier and crew member of Ship 795, Squadron 311, Brigade 161. Lieutenant Hoang Van Tung had a difficult housing situation; before the construction of the new house, his family lived in a severely dilapidated single-story house. Construction of the house began in early May 2024, with a total area of 70 square meters and a construction cost of over 200 million VND. Of this amount, the Navy contributed 80 million VND from the "For the Poor" Fund; the remaining amount was saved by the family and provided by relatives.
Recently, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command, in coordination with the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Hoang Hoa District branch) and local Party committees and authorities, organized the handover of financial support and the inauguration of a "Comrade's House" for Senior Lieutenant Le Van Chien, a communications officer in the Staff Department of the Nhu Xuan District Military Command, residing in Ba Dinh village, Hoang Cat commune (Hoang Hoa district), who was facing housing difficulties. After more than 3 months of construction, the house was completed with a construction area of 100m2, at a total cost of 300 million VND. Of this amount, the Ministry of National Defense contributed 80 million VND from its "For the Poor" Fund. Similarly, the construction of a house for Lieutenant Nguyen Viet Hiep was funded by the Provincial Military Command through a fundraising campaign by the Army Youth to build a "100 VND House" for families of Youth Union members and young people facing particularly difficult economic and housing circumstances. The house, measuring 75 square meters, was built with a total investment of over 200 million VND. Of this amount, officers, members, and youth of the armed forces of Military Region 4 contributed 60 million VND, while the remaining funds were contributed by the family and relatives.
It is known that in 2024, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command built 27 "Great Solidarity" houses and "Comrade Houses"; 110 houses for poor households and 2 "100 Dong Houses" (an effective model in implementing Directive 05 of the military youth), contributing to the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. These houses, imbued with the spirit of mutual support and compassion among comrades, will be a support system to help families overcome difficulties and strive to improve their lives, working hard to fulfill all assigned tasks.
