(Dan Tri) – Living and working in the midst of thousands of Cuc Phuong, the rangers are always in a situation where there is no electricity, no phone signal, no internet. They consider the forest as the second house, clinging day and night to keep the old forest green.
Cuc Phuong National Park covers an area of more than 22.400 hectares located in 3 provinces: Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa. The garden has a rich and diverse flora and fauna with tropical rainforest characteristics.
Many endangered plant and animal species have been discovered and preserved here. Therefore, the protection of this nature reserve in the past decades has always been a top priority.
60 years ago, Cuc Phuong National Park was established, this is also the first national park in Vietnam. Forest rangers here were also established and operated in parallel to protect this special nature reserve and special-use forest.
The leader of Cuc Phuong National Park said that the park's Forest Protection Department currently has 12 Ranger Stations scattered around the buffer zone, 1 mobile Ranger Station.
The whole county currently has a total of 52 rangers, directly managing and protecting 22.408ha. In Ninh Binh province, there are 5 Ranger Stations; Hoa Binh 3 Stations; Thanh Hoa 4 Stations and 1 Mobile Station.
Most of the rangers of Cuc Phuong National Park work away from home, away from family, wife and children. There are people who have been attached to the old forest for the past 20 years, considering the forest as their "second home". They live, work, and stay in the forest to guard and protect the forest forever green.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Son - Deputy Head of the Forest Protection Department of Cuc Phuong National Park said that the park has 2 ranger stations located in the core area of the forest with no electricity, no phone signal and no internet, which is Station No. Dan) and Station No. 1 (Station Dang). Therefore, forest rangers living and working at these two stations face many difficulties.
Located about 15km from the forest gate, Ranger Station No. 1 (also known as Tram Dan) is nestled among ancient forest trees, surrounded by immense green. The station has no electricity, no phone signal, no internet. Therefore, the rangers here cannot capture daily news.
Mr. Do Tien Dung (SN 1969) - Station chief of Tram Dan said that he has been working at the station for more than 20 years, about the same amount of time to get used to the scene of "3 nos".
“Due to no electricity, we mainly use dry food for food, fresh food is difficult to preserve, so we only use it during the day. On hot days, without an electric fan, the brothers invite each other to the stream to sit and cool, cooking mainly uses wood stoves or gas stoves.
The difficulty is that, but the rangers of Cuc Phuong National Park always fulfill their assigned tasks well. Mr. Dung shared, the station has 6 officers, assigned to manage and protect more than 7.000 hectares of forest.
Currently, the extent of encroachment on forest resources in Cuc Phuong has been well controlled and forest security is ensured. Therefore, forest rangers are now mainly monitoring the activities of tourists so that visitors do not have an impact on the environment.
In addition to forest protection, the forest rangers of Cuc Phuong National Park also often stay close to people living in the buffer zone, guiding them to develop their economy based on inherent natural resources such as beekeeping for honey. from forest flowers, developing tourism based on forest ecosystems, planting trees that bring high economic profits...
