Those who "ignite" the election spirit at the grassroots level.

The atmosphere of preparation for election day is spreading throughout the residential areas. Behind this hustle and bustle are the dedicated and hardworking grassroots officials who are silently "igniting the flame" to ensure that this great event for the entire nation takes place safely, democratically, and in accordance with the law.

Silent in anticipation of a national celebration.

In the days leading up to the election, Ms. Tran Thi Phuc, Deputy Head of Neighborhood Group 4, Dong Gia Nghia Ward, is busy with the final preparations. During the day, she and other members of the election committee prepare the facilities, decorate the polling area, and publicize the significance of the election. At night, she single-handedly distributes voter cards to each resident. Ms. Phuc shared: “The closer it gets to the election day, the more work there is, requiring us to temporarily put aside our personal matters to focus on the common task. We encourage each other, saying that this only happens once every five years, and it's all for the voters and for the representatives.”

The preparation time for this election is more urgent than in previous ones, so Mr. Tran Quang Trung, the village head of Quang Hop hamlet, Quang Son commune, is working more diligently. According to Mr. Trung, the election of National Assembly deputies for the 16th term and People's Council representatives at all levels for the 2026-2031 term is taking place later in the context of the country implementing a two-tiered local government model. Therefore, this election is of particular importance in selecting worthy representatives who will represent the will and aspirations of the people to participate in discussions and decisions on important national and local issues. "I always strive to uphold the responsibility of a village official, setting a good example and being responsible in all my work, especially contributing to thorough preparation for the upcoming election so that the people trust and actively participate," Mr. Trung stated. Quang Hop hamlet has approximately 1,464 voters participating in the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council representatives at all levels. To ensure that voter cards reached every citizen, Mr. Trung and the village's self-governing committee spent many days going to each household, reviewing the list, distributing cards, and simultaneously disseminating information and reminding people about the time and place to vote.

In addition to directly implementing tasks related to the election, grassroots officials also serve as a bridge between voters and the Party committee and government.

In Quang Tien village, Quang Son commune, the people are familiar with the sight of Village Head Nguyen Duc Dai "going from street to street, knocking on every door" to distribute voter cards and remind voters about the date, time, and location of their ballots. For each voter, voting is both a right and a civic duty. For those like Mr. Dai, who are "working for the community without expecting anything in return," it is the responsibility of a village official to the people. Mr. Dai said: "The villagers live quite scattered, with many households in remote fields. Therefore, delivering voter cards to over 1,600 voters is not easy. Although the work is hard, thinking about the fact that everyone will vote on election day and choose worthy representatives to voice the people's opinions makes everyone happy."

BA PHUC
In the evening, Mrs. Tran Thi Phuc went "from street to street, knocking on every door" to distribute voter cards, reminding people to remember to go to the polls on March 15th.

The responsibility lies with those closest to the people.

It's not just Ms. Phuc, Mr. Trung, or Mr. Dai; the image of Front Committee officials, neighborhood group leaders, village heads, and election committee members busily "going from street to street, knocking on every door" to review voter lists, disseminate information about citizens' rights and responsibilities on election day, or distribute voter cards has become familiar. For grassroots officials, every task, no matter how small—such as checking voter lists, preparing ballot boxes, or guiding people to understand election regulations—contributes to making election day a true festival for the people. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Quang Son commune, the locality proactively established election committees early and assigned specific tasks to each member. The review and compilation of voter lists received special attention. This work requires meticulousness and accuracy, because even a small mistake can affect the rights of voters. Therefore, voter lists are posted early and regularly reviewed and cross-checked to allow for timely adjustments.

In addition, grassroots officials actively propagated and mobilized people to understand the significance of the election. During neighborhood meetings and village gatherings, election-related content was always incorporated to provide timely information to residents. The public address system and community groups on Zalo and Facebook were also utilized to widely disseminate information. Mr. Dinh Van Nam, from neighborhood group 4, Dong Gia Nghia ward, said: “Thanks to the dedication of the grassroots officials, we understand our rights and responsibilities better on election day, from learning about the candidates to the voting process. We have our voter cards and are ready to vote for our representatives on March 15th.”

In addition to directly carrying out election-related tasks, grassroots officials also serve as a bridge between voters and the Party committee and government. Through meetings with voters and community activities, they listen to and compile many opinions and suggestions from the people related to life, production, infrastructure, environment, security, and order, to report to the competent authorities for consideration and resolution. Many officials, while completing their professional work, take advantage of evenings or days off to review voter lists, prepare documents, and ensure the necessary facilities for polling stations. Despite the hard work, everyone recognizes this as both a responsibility and a source of pride in contributing to such an important political event for the country.

It can be said that election day is not only a major political event but also a festival for the entire nation. Besides the preparations by all levels and sectors, there is also the silent contribution of those who are working day and night to "maintain the rhythm" of the election at the grassroots level, ensuring that this national event takes place successfully.
