As part of a series of events to welcome the 1st Commune Party Congress (term 2025 - 2030), over the past few days, mountainous communes such as Avuong, La Êê, Tra Tap, Tra Linh... have organized unique agricultural product display spaces.
With a variety of agricultural products, the market adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the festival, becoming a place to connect and promote the typical products of the highland people to tourists.
Connect local products
Mr. Briu Quan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Avuong commune, said that throughout the congress (from July 24 to 25), the local government flexibly mobilized and connected villages to open markets displaying typical products, welcoming the 1st Congress of the Commune Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.
The market took place in a bustling atmosphere in the center of the commune, gathering 6 agricultural stalls with dozens of diverse products, mainly brought by local people.
The items for sale are diverse, from vegetables, beans, purple sticky rice, red sticky rice, stream fish, rock snails, mountain frogs... to products bearing the strong mark of Co Tu culture such as wild honey, brocade, beadwork and handmade jewelry.
“Notably, most people are bringing their products to the market for the first time in this form. With unique and safe products, we encourage people to be confident in trading, creating value for mountainous agricultural products, especially the opportunity to connect and bring local products to more people,” Mr. Briu Quan shared.

To ensure the market space, in addition to connecting people to bring products to display, departments and offices of Avuong commune mobilized forces to set up tents, divide booths into each village and production group; at the same time, take turns selling products, serving people and tourists to shop.
Ms. Alang Thi Thuan, representative of the R'cung village stall, shared that this was the first time she had displayed "homemade" agricultural products, so she was a bit worried. But after only half a session, many agricultural products were sold out, so everyone was very excited.
"I hope markets like this are held regularly so that people have a place to sell their products, creating motivation to increase production," Ms. Thuan confided.
Enhance the unique value
Not only Avuong commune, agricultural product display spaces are also deployed by some localities such as La Êê, Tra Tap, Tra Linh... to introduce and promote mountain products to tourists.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Hung, Permanent Vice Chairman of La Ee Commune People's Committee, said that although the time was very short, the number of people coming to buy and sell typical products such as pickled onions, seven-leaf ginseng, and melons was quite crowded, creating an impressive shopping space before the congress.
“Not only local people, many agricultural products are purchased by communal staff canteens, police officers, and border guards, adding joy to people on these special and meaningful days,” said Mr. Hung.
Returning after attending the congress, Ms. Briu Thi Xet (Bhlo village, Avuong commune) went to the market stalls to buy her favorite products including a set of beads and a traditional Co Tu brocade cloth.
Ms. Briu Thi Xet said that the unique combination makes the market a space for meeting, exchanging, and buying and selling typical agricultural products between farmers and consumers.
This is also an important channel to communicate and promote products and typical values of mountainous agricultural products to a large number of people, tourists and neighboring communities.
According to Ms. Briu Thi Nem, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Avuong commune, this market is a combination of introducing and promoting products with a space to welcome the Commune Party Congress.
This is considered an important step in connecting people with the market economy , especially at a time when the new commune government has just been put into operation.
To make the market effective, local authorities proactively guide booth layout, provide knowledge about consumer tastes, and advise on choosing products with the potential to develop into their own brands.
Because the goal is not only to consume within the community but also to build a competitive local product brand in the future market.
“From the initial success of this market, we plan to organize regular agricultural markets in the coming time. Thereby, contributing to improving people's income, aiming at developing agriculture associated with Co Tu community tourism according to the commune's orientation in the coming time,” said Ms. Nem.
Mountainous agricultural markets organized by localities are considered an important first step on the journey of developing agricultural economy associated with preserving traditional culture.
With the support of the government and the consensus of the people, the next markets promise to be a place where typical mountain products converge, contributing to improving the lives and affirming the unique values of the land west of Da Nang city.
