- Despite not having formal journalism training, the officers and soldiers working in propaganda within the provincial armed forces continue to strive and learn on their own to create journalistic works, contributing to propaganda efforts.
At the Provincial Military Command, the entire communication workload is currently handled by 6 officers in the propaganda department. With limited personnel, this department has to perform a variety of tasks, from writing news articles and taking photos to filming, scripting, and producing documentaries. On average, each year, officers and soldiers working in propaganda within the armed forces produce over 100 programs on "National Defense for All" and "For Border Security and Sovereignty," with over 1,000 news articles, reports, and photos published and broadcast on Lang Son Newspaper, Radio, and Television, as well as several other national newspapers and television channels.

The daily and weekly workload is immense, while the demands for discipline and adherence to military language standards are extremely stringent. Despite the difficulties in personnel numbers, the propaganda officers consistently uphold a high sense of responsibility, proactively overcome challenges, and strive to meet and successfully complete all targets and tasks assigned by the Party committees and commanders at all levels.
It is known that most of the propaganda staff in the provincial armed forces have never received any formal training in journalism. When undertaking their duties, familiarizing themselves with equipment such as cameras, video cameras, video editing software, and news writing skills is a major challenge for them. To meet the job requirements, the officers have independently studied materials and monitored journalistic products in the People's Army Newspaper, Border Guard Newspaper, and Lang Son Newspaper, Radio, and Television... to gain experience. At the same time, during their work, they proactively learn and exchange skills with local and central reporters to improve their expertise.
A prime example of overcoming difficulties and staying close to the grassroots is Major Duong Van Nguyen, a grassroots cultural officer in the Propaganda Department, Political Division, Provincial Military Command. Having been involved in propaganda work for many years, he has covered numerous important events and missions of the provincial armed forces.
Major Duong Van Nguyen stated: "To obtain the most authentic footage and images of training, regional defense exercises, or activities assisting the people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, I personally marched alongside officers and soldiers, closely monitoring the area and traversing treacherous mountainous terrain. I always set high standards for each frame and event; carefully reviewing everything from content to presentation. The reporting process demands dedication and a commitment to self-learning, constantly improving professional skills."
On the front lines of the border, the border guard forces have also recorded many shining examples in communication work, notably Captain Ly Van Nhat, a staff member of the cultural center, Provincial Border Guard Command.
Captain Ly Van Nhat stated: "The unique nature of information from the border region always demands a high degree of timeliness. Therefore, during my work, I have to constantly improve my skills in quick note-taking, information processing, and on-the-spot image editing to promptly deliver information and realistically portray the difficulties, hardships, and unwavering spirit of the officers and soldiers in green uniforms while performing their duties in managing and protecting the nation's borders."
Propaganda work within the provincial armed forces is changing daily, closely adhering to the requirements of the new situation. The officers and soldiers who also undertake propaganda work, with their firm political stance and high sense of responsibility, have proven their capabilities. Their silent dedication, serious and proactive work ethic, and dedication contribute to building a solid ideological foundation; they serve as a bridge, promptly disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, and strengthening the people's trust in the armed forces in the cause of national construction and defense.
