Those who refuse to stand still.

In Vinh Linh, for over thirty years, Mr. Vo Doan Thu has been dedicated to his work, working between his livestock farm and processing plant. Starting as a small-scale livestock farmer, he has gradually built a comprehensive production model encompassing pig breeding, pork production, turmeric starch processing, the production of products from local agricultural produce, and the animal feed business. Currently, he maintains two closed-loop livestock farms covering 4.5 hectares, with a scale of 200 sows, supplying approximately 7,500 piglets and raising 2,500 market pigs annually. Alongside these are a turmeric starch processing plant, OCOP (One Commune One Product) products from local agricultural produce, and an animal feed distribution system.

"What makes me happiest is that our products are trusted by customers and contribute to creating jobs for local workers. To get rich from agriculture today, farmers must innovate their thinking, focus on quality, and enhance the value of their products," Mr. Thu shared.

Currently, Mr. Vo Doan Thu's integrated production model provides regular employment for 22 local workers and 5 seasonal workers, with stable incomes ranging from 6-9 million VND per person per month. Total profits from production and business activities reach approximately 2 billion VND per year.

In the Ninh Chau coastal region, Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan has persistently built a brand for local seafood products. Overcoming initial market challenges, she has gradually expanded production and perfected processing procedures. To date, the Vuong Doan Seafood Production, Trading, and Processing Cooperative has established a factory system, cold storage, and preliminary processing area covering approximately 500 square meters, processing over 200 tons of seafood annually.

By 2025, the cooperative's revenue is expected to exceed 19 billion VND, with a profit of over 2.4 billion VND; creating regular employment for 11 local workers, and through its raw material procurement activities, contributing to a stable market for over 1,100 marine workers in the area.

Ms. Doan shared: "The cooperative aims to increase the value of seafood, giving fishermen more motivation to stay at sea. Therefore, the cooperative always strives to improve quality and build a brand for local products."

Therefore, proposing the construction of a new Kim Dien Water Treatment Plant to utilize the capacity and maximize the objectives of the repair and upgrade project to ensure the safety of the Khe Doi dam in Trung Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district, under the project to repair and upgrade critical dams and reservoirs in Quang Binh province (formerly), is extremely urgent and consistent with the water supply network development plan.

The Van Kieu people of Ho village protect the forest.QTO - Huong Phung commune has 24 villages and hamlets, 2,865 households with 12,131 inhabitants, mainly ethnic minority people of the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic group. With a natural area of over 44,548 hectares, Huong Phung is an important buffer zone of the Bac Huong Hoa Nature Reserve. Therefore, most villages and hamlets in Huong Phung have relatively favorable conditions in terms of land and water resources for sustainable agricultural and forestry economic development. However, the reality is that the living standards of the people remain low, mainly relying on the forest for their livelihood, so forest management and protection have faced many difficulties and challenges in the past. However, since the State adopted the policy of entrusting forests to community management, people's awareness of the importance of forests has gradually changed positively.
Sustainable economic development from an integrated model
Sustainable economic development from an integrated modelQTO - Embracing the spirit of daring to think and act, Mr. Le Ba Khanh in Dong Van village, Trieu Co commune, boldly transformed barren land to build a comprehensive economic model. His flexible and creative approach has helped his family achieve a stable income, making him one of the exemplary farming and business households in the locality.

Armed with biotechnology knowledge acquired during his training in Japan, Nguyen Dang Vuong from Vinh Linh commune returned to his hometown and began a journey of transforming agricultural by-products and organic waste into raw materials for production. Microbial technology helps create animal feed and organic fertilizers, reducing production costs and contributing to environmental pollution reduction.

Currently, Tay Son Clean Agriculture Cooperative operates a closed-loop circular agriculture model, producing approximately 300 tons of microbial mixed feed annually, maintaining a livestock herd of over 6,000 animals, and cultivating 5 hectares of ST25 rice organically. Annual revenue reaches approximately 8 billion VND.

"I hope that more and more farmers will boldly embrace science and technology to jointly build a green, modern, and sustainable agriculture. Economic efficiency is important, but what's even more important is maintaining a sustainable production environment for future generations," Mr. Vuong shared.

The model currently connects 45 members and over 500 households, transferring technology and guaranteeing product sales, contributing to increased income for many people in the area.

Partnering with farmers for innovation.

Beyond developing production and business, Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Lien chose a path closely linked to the community. Instead of focusing solely on developing her own cooperative, she built a network linking with hundreds of households, forming a raw material area for mushroom production and other clean agricultural products.

To date, Tuan Linh Clean Mushroom Production and Agricultural Business Cooperative has partnered with 34 cooperatives and over 500 households, investing in an 8,700m² production area with a capacity of approximately 3.8 million mushroom spawn bags per year, yielding about 380 tons of fresh and dried mushrooms of various types.

Ms. Lien shared: "From the very beginning of the cooperative's establishment, I have always believed that sustainable development must be linked to the interests of the people and the locality. Linking with households will create a stable source of raw materials and help many families increase their income."

Many of the cooperative's OCOP products are now available in domestic distribution systems, contributing to expanding the market for local agricultural products. Average revenue reaches over 18 billion VND per year, creating jobs for dozens of direct employees and hundreds of workers in the production chain.

Throughout the rural areas of Quang Tri province, an increasing number of farmers are boldly applying science and technology, building brands, establishing production linkages, and proactively seeking markets. Behind these transformations is the support of the Farmers' Association in providing capital, transferring technology, building collective economic models, and connecting product consumption.
