VHO - The Vietnamese Sports Delegation has just completed the competitions at the 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG 2025) held in Bahrain with 1 gold medal, 7 silver medals and 11 bronze medals, ranking 22nd out of 45 delegations.

The Vietnamese Sports Delegation participating in AYG 2025 has 75 members, including 50 athletes and 15 coaches. The delegation competes in 11 sports, including: Badminton (1 athlete), Jujitsu (5), Boxing (3), Judo (2), Wrestling (4), Athletics (2), Golf (6), Weightlifting (4), Taekwondo (6), Cycling (6), Muay (11).

As a result, young Vietnamese talents won 19 medals, including 1 gold, 7 silver and 11 bronze medals.

The only gold medal of the delegation was won by weightlifter Nguyen Thanh Duy. In the men's 65kg weight class, Thanh Duy successfully lifted 156kg to step onto the top podium to receive the medal.

VHO - The Vietnamese sports delegation is competing at the 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG 2025) taking place in Bahrain. Not only is it a playground for athletes to compete, it is also a valuable launching pad to help many Vietnamese sports talents step into larger arenas, aiming for the SEA Games, ASIAD, and even the Olympics.

Meanwhile, the silver medals came from Y Lien (weightlifting), Bui Ngoc Thao Thom (beach wrestling), Bui Tuan Tu (athletics), Hoang Thi Thu Huyen (Taekwondo), Nguyen Tuan Anh, Doan Uy/Nguyen Tuan Anh (both Golf), Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong (Muay).

The bronze medals were won by Lam Minh Gia Huy (beach wrestling), Pham Minh Tuyet, Hoang Manh Luong, Nong Bao Ngoc (all Jujitsu), Y Lien, Dao Thi Yen, Hung Van The (all weightlifting), Tran Ho Van Nhan, Bui Mai Phuong (all Taekwondo), Do Phuong Nguyen, Tran Quoc Bao (all Muay).

According to experts, although not in the leading group, this achievement is still considered quite successful, as many athletes, playing on the continent for the first time, have shown clear progress.

Although the achievements are still modest compared to expectations, the efforts, brave fighting spirit and dedication of the young athletes have left many positive marks, opening up faith in the future of the country's sports.

AYG 2025 has more than 4,300 male and female athletes aged 14 to 18, from 45 countries and territories, a competitive playground where young talents from the continent are challenged, rubbed and matured.

For young Vietnamese athletes, this is not only an opportunity to compete but also a journey to learn, practice and gain experience for the athletes towards the SEA Games, ASIAD and even the Olympics in the future.

Many young talents participating in the regional arena for the first time showed their competitive spirit and were recognized for their encouraging progress.

Names like Nguyen Thanh Duy, Y Lien, Thao Thom, Tuan Tu Thu Huyen, Tuan Anh, Thu Phuong,… have shown a clear inheritance, ready to follow the generation of seniors to make Vietnamese sports famous in other major tournaments in the future.
