Having lived in Bu Dinh hamlet, Thanh An commune for over 20 years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Tram was delighted when the road was upgraded and widened. According to Ms. Tram, the road used to be very narrow and dusty in the sun and muddy in the rain, making transportation difficult, especially for students. “When we heard the news that the government was building the road, the people in the hamlet were very happy! My family was also affected by the road widening, but with a wider road, our business and travel will be much easier,” Ms. Tram happily shared.
Ms. Thi Be, Head of Bu Dinh Hamlet, said that the hamlet has 250 households/1,130 people, of which more than 75% are ethnic minorities. The people are very excited and strongly support the government's road construction plan. After only a few days of propaganda and mobilization, the people proactively moved fences, cut down trees, and cleared the land to hand over to the government for road construction. Everyone happily complied without demanding compensation from the government. "The people hope the road will be constructed quickly so that they can have a new road soon. Their children can go to school safely without worrying about rain and sun like before," Ms. Thi Be said.
“This road has been requested by the Party Branch, the hamlet's management board, and the people for many years because it is severely degraded, greatly affecting the people's transportation and economic development. Especially the Bu Dinh bridge area, which is flooded and impassable during the rainy season; many people have been swept away by floodwaters and died while crossing the bridge at night. Now that the State has invested in building the road and rebuilding the bridge, the people are very happy,” shared Mr. Le Tien Chuc, Secretary of the Bu Dinh Hamlet Party Branch.
Expedite construction progress.
The Bù Dinh - Thanh Sơn road and bridge upgrade and construction project, spanning over 8.5km, connects the center of Thanh An commune with Highway 757, creating momentum for local economic development and linking with neighboring areas. Thanks to the high level of consensus and agreement from the people in land clearance, the project is progressing on schedule. Mr. Nguyen Hong Quan, the project commander for the Bù Dinh - Thanh Sơn road and bridge upgrade and construction project in Thanh An commune, said: Taking advantage of the dry season, the unit concentrated its forces, dividing them into four simultaneous construction teams to accelerate progress. Currently, the project has completed over 30% of the work volume, with quality meeting requirements.
According to Cao Minh Cong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh An commune: In 2024, Thanh An commune achieved the new rural development goals, however, the transportation infrastructure has not yet been fully developed. The upgrading and construction of the Bu Dinh - Thanh Son road and bridge, once completed, will not only help fulfill the new rural development criteria but also open up new development opportunities for Thanh An commune in particular and Hon Quan district in general, as transportation will be connected according to the province's overall plan.
The upgrading and construction project of the Bu Dinh - Thanh Son road and bridge in Thanh An commune is expected to be put into use from November 2026. Local authorities are actively coordinating with the investor to strengthen inspection, supervision, and resolve difficulties as they arise to ensure the project is implemented on schedule and meets quality standards.
