In 2013, the wet rice project with an area of 5 hectares in Ka Ai village invested by the Border Guard of Quang Binh was born. After ten years and 20 rice crops, from being hand-held by Border Guards to now, the May people here have taken the initiative in all production activities. Each year, two rice crops have an average yield of about 2 tons/hectare. 40 households with 138 people in Ka Ai now have a guaranteed food source, not only enough rice to eat all year round but also to store and raise livestock.
After 10 years of hardship and hardship, many times it seemed like the Quang Binh Border Guard and people had to give up because the climate was too harsh, the terrain was mountainous, and water was scarce.
