The project has a loan value of 19,122 million Yen (equivalent to 3.650 billion VND at the time of signing the loan agreement) and will be implemented from 2013 to 2023. Through the project, the Northern Nghe An irrigation system In the 4 districts of Do Luong, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh and Quynh Luu under Component 1 of the Project have been restored, upgraded, ensuring stable irrigation for 28,801 hectares of agricultural land, supplementing water sources for daily life. , livestock, industry and other purposes. The irrigation training center under the Vietnam Academy of Irrigation Sciences in Thach That, Hanoi, built in Component 2 of the Project, has helped strengthen the capacity of technical staff and irrigation managers. nationwide.

Also within the framework of the Project, the cultivated area and productivity in the project area have increased significantly, flood drainage capacity has been improved, flood drainage has been reduced, the environment has been improved, and the impact of drought has been minimized. , thereby improving the lives of people in the project area.

The inauguration ceremony of the Project "Restoring and upgrading the Northern Nghe An irrigation system" is one of the important events celebrating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. At the ceremony, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development awarded the Minister's Certificate of Merit to the JICA Vietnam Office for JICA's contributions to the Industry.
