Nissan Frontier PRO-4X R 2026 has an upgraded version, "competing" with Ford Ranger Raptor

Nissan teams up with Roush Performance to launch the 2026 Frontier PRO-4X R, a high-performance off-road pickup that competes directly with the Ford Ranger Raptor but at a cheaper price.

Nissan has just announced a bold move when collaborating with the famous tuning company Roush Performance with upgrades for Ford vehicles to develop the Frontier PRO-4X R 2026. This is the first time the two sides have joined hands, bringing a pickup version that is refined in both appearance and off-road ability, directly competing with the Ford Ranger Raptor.

Based on the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X pickup truck platform, this PRO-4X R version features a series of exclusive titanium details, including underbody panels, grille and logos.

The car also gets a Lava Red winch, Roush fender badges, 17-inch titanium-finished alloy wheels, Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme all-terrain tires, black wheel nuts, and aggressive “R” hubcaps.

The cockpit retains its practical style but is slightly refined with the headrests embroidered with the “R” logo. The car is equipped with a 12.3-inch central entertainment screen and a 7-inch multi-information screen, providing good support for the user experience.

The biggest highlight of the 2026 Frontier PRO-4X R is the Roush Performance x Ohlins 2.0 Off-Road suspension system, which increases ground clearance by 51 mm.

The new suspension uses dedicated arms, coil spring shock absorbers with separate oil reservoirs and aluminum shock absorber bodies, optimizing approach and departure angles and control when off-road.

The car still uses the familiar 3.8L V6 engine, producing 310 horsepower and 381 Nm of torque. This figure is significantly lower than the Ford Ranger Raptor's twin-turbocharged 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine (405 horsepower, 582 Nm).

However, the 2026 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X R has an advantage in price, starting in the US at $47,960 (about 1.25 billion VND), about $8,110 (212 million VND) cheaper than the Ranger Raptor.

In Vietnam, Nissan Frontier is distributed under the name Navara. This pickup model has just been upgraded in 2024, equipped with a 2.3L twin-turbo diesel engine, priced from 685 million VND to 960 million VND for the Pro4X version.

Although the Frontier PRO-4X R 2026 has no plans to be sold in Vietnam, the appearance of this model promises to create great competitive pressure in the global high-performance pickup segment.
