The School of Medicine and Pharmacy, part of Tra Vinh University, was established on February 1, 2024, through the merger of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Faculty of Dentistry. The school currently comprises six faculties: Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, Medical Laboratory Technology, Nursing, and Dentistry. To date, the school offers nine undergraduate programs, two master's programs, nine Level I specialist programs, and one Level II specialist program.

In 2024, the School of Medicine and Pharmacy (Tra Vinh University) will be accepting applications for the following majors: General Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Preventive Medicine, Public Health , Rehabilitation Technology, and Medical Imaging Technology.

The university applies various admission methods: admission based on high school graduation exam results, admission based on high school academic transcripts, admission based on the results of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's aptitude test, etc. However, the high school academic transcript-based admission method is not applied to the General Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry programs.

The training program at the School of Medicine and Pharmacy (Tra Vinh University) is carefully and scientifically designed, ensuring that students receive in-depth knowledge and practical skills. Students participate in seminars, medical forums, and internships at major hospitals to master practical skills. The school's teaching staff is carefully selected, mostly consisting of PhDs and experienced doctors who are highly skilled, dedicated to their profession, and always willing to guide and support students in their studies and research.

The school offers multidisciplinary training and interdisciplinary programs in the field of health sciences; conducts research and technology transfer; develops applications of science and technology to serve the community; and applies the School-Hospital model in close collaboration with hospitals, medical centers, and health stations in the region.”

The university promotes scientific and technological research in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, health sciences, medical technology and engineering, etc.; participates in advising on strategic issues, policies and solutions for the development of health sciences to serve management; closely integrates training with scientific research and scientific-technological services in the field of medicine; combines training with practice, medical examination and treatment, and community health care and protection; expands cooperation with medical facilities and strengthens connections with practical training facilities for students and trainees in health-related fields.
