Wherever there are difficulties, there are soldiers.

The floods have passed, leaving behind a scene of devastation and mud-strewn debris in many communes and wards in the eastern part of the province.

It was precisely at a time when people's lives were completely disrupted that the soldiers' hurried footsteps arrived just in time. Their presence with the people was not just a duty, but a "command from the heart."

As the floodwaters receded, they left behind stained walls and thick layers of mud covering inter-village roads, schools, and health centers. Hoa Thinh commune – one of the areas most severely affected by the flood – is shrouded in gloom.

Officers and soldiers of the 315th Division are present at the flood-stricken area of Hoa Thinh.
Officers and soldiers of the 315th Division quickly mobilized to the flood-stricken area of Hoa Thinh.

Upon receiving the order, more than 200 officers and soldiers of the 315th Division, along with numerous specialized vehicles, traveled long distances to the heart of the flooded area. Without waiting for the heavy rain to subside, each team immediately fanned out to the hotspots. The green uniforms of the soldiers blended with the mud and soil as they busily cleaned up schools and offices so that people's lives could return to normal as soon as possible.

Corporal Mang Binh (a soldier from Company 3, Battalion 1) wiped away sweat with his hands still stained with mud and shared: “Seeing the villagers struggling makes us feel so sorry for them. We encourage each other to work tirelessly, hoping that they will soon have stable living conditions.”

Soldiers actively help the people.
Soldiers actively helped people clean up after the floods.

During the relief effort, the soldiers not only used their physical strength but also their dedication. While cleaning up, the soldiers discovered Mr. Nguyen Van Dong (from My Phu village) had fallen, his face was pale, and he was unable to walk. Immediately, the unit arranged for specialized vehicles to transport Mr. Dong to a higher-level medical facility for timely emergency treatment.

Soldiers assist people in arriving.
The soldiers promptly assisted people who had fallen and transported them to medical care.

Lieutenant Colonel Do Thanh Thai, Political Commissar of the 315th Division, affirmed: “The Division considers the task of helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters as a political responsibility and a command from the heart. We adhere to the motto: the troops will not return until the floodwaters recede; if any household is still facing difficulties, the officers and soldiers of the Division will continue to be present, working together to provide support.”

Alongside environmental sanitation efforts, the task of caring for and protecting the health of the people after the floods is equally challenging.

In Xuan Phu village (Tuy An Dong commune), even before the mud had dried, ambulances from Military Hospital 13 (Military Region 5) arrived early. With the spirit of "wherever the people are in need, the soldiers are there," Task Force No. 2 quickly reached the flood-stricken area to provide medical examinations, distribute medicine, and share the difficulties with the local people.

At the clinic, top priority was given to the elderly, children, and families receiving government assistance. After the floods, many diseases easily arise, such as fungal skin infections, athlete's foot, digestive and respiratory illnesses. Despite the mud, the doctors gently cleaned each wound and carefully cared for the ulcerated feet of the elderly.

The pair gently inspected each one.
The duo gently checked each elderly person's foot after the floods.

The bags of medicine, handed directly to the people and accompanied by thoughtful advice on disease prevention, warmed the hearts of the flood victims. Prior to this, Military Hospital 13 had urgently established three mobile task forces with eight doctors and nurses to provide support to Hoa Thinh commune.

Not only Military Hospital 13, but the entire healthcare system and local authorities have joined forces with the highest determination. Dak Lak province has transported and distributed 1,170 medical kits; activated 3 mobile epidemic control teams with 4 people per team and 12 staff members accompanying the police and military forces to areas where the water level is receding to spray disinfectant and sanitize. All plans, from personnel to equipment (3 ambulances, 12 medical staff ready to transport patients), have been meticulously prepared by the local authorities to ensure that no one is left behind.

They carefully examined and treated each person, and inquired about their health.

The saying "The soldiers won't return until the floodwaters recede" has been repeated over and over again in recent days, not as an empty slogan, but as a firm commitment from the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army that as long as there are difficulties, the army will remain.
