Where I found peace

9:36:35 - 6/5/2025

BPO - In April, my hometown is like an old shirt drying in the crisp, dry, and faded sun. It hasn't rained for days, the ground is like a calloused patch, stained with the colors of time and wind. This seemingly tranquil scene clearly reflects the hustle and bustle of life, where people are always rushing and racing against time, forgetting moments of peace.

It was only eight or nine in the morning, but the sun was already blazing. Sweat poured down my back, soaking me like a small stream. Modern life, with its hurried pace, sweeps us along like a river, sometimes making us forget that just a moment of quiet is enough to soothe our fatigue.

Looking out into the garden, the trees seem to bend under the scorching sun. At such times, all one longs for is a gentle rain, enough to save everything. Just like the deepest corners of the human heart, modern society also needs gentle rain to heal, to soothe the cracks we can't see in the whirlwind of work and pressure.

Fortunately, around midday, a gentle southerly breeze blew in from the southeast, carrying cool, refreshing moisture that soothed the scorching heat. The wind rustled through the rows of palm trees, tousling my hair and stinging my eyes, but it was a pleasant feeling. It was like those rare moments in the day when we pause, listen to the wind, and feel the peace in the flow of life. And sometimes, simply letting go of worries allows us to find the space to recharge our energy.

On a humid midday, all I need is a hammock strung under a tree, letting the breeze gently rock me, my mind relaxed, my soul carried away by the wind… that’s enough. At that moment, I don’t need to fight off sleepiness; I just let instinct guide me into a dreamlike realm. That’s when I find tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle of life, when there are no more car engines, no more meetings, no more deadlines… only fresh, natural, and peaceful space.

In April – the humid season – I return to the sea, where I can rediscover moments of healing, following the trend known as "Vitamin Sea." My hometown sea – Hoa Bay (Xuan Thinh) – is as peaceful as a place of meditation. Nature here seems to have reached absolute purity.

Beneath the rustling pine forest, the sounds were like a fairytale melody, lulling my soul into a dreamy reverie. The wind blew strongly, no longer a gentle caress but a brimming of memories. Lying in the swaying hammock, I looked up at the sky, listened to the earth, and felt as if my heart was being cleansed of the dust of the city, where sometimes we forget how to stop and take a deep breath.

In the distance, at the water's edge, kites, full of wind, soared and glided in the air. As the kites flew, my soul soared with them. Suddenly, I felt light as a feather, as if I had just shed all the burdens of life. Life isn't just a never-ending race; sometimes, it's about letting yourself go, immersing yourself in space and nature, to rediscover yourself.

As evening fell, the beach became more crowded, with both locals and tourists. They happily swam, took photos, and played. When the beach emptied, I gently stepped into the water. The sea in my hometown caressed me like a mother's embrace: gentle, forgiving, and familiar. I let myself be carried away by the waves, allowing my heart to drift back to my childhood days…

Looking up at the sky, I saw a clear blue sky gradually darkening. The sky and sea seemed to merge into one, blurring the lines between shore and horizon. In the distance, a crescent moon hung askew, like a leaf lost in a dream. Small waves whispered, caressing the white rocks, as if recounting the story of the sea, a story that has been sung for millennia. In that moment, I found peace, something we can only find when we temporarily escape the hustle and bustle of life.

In the middle of the ocean, I spread my arms, relax my body, take a deep breath, and exhale gently. I drift to the soft rhythm of the waves. All the noise, all the daily burdens gradually subside – slowly, peacefully, like sand sinking to the bottom of the blue sea. A rare moment of peace, gentle as morning dew, fragile yet profound. Regardless of the turbulent waves of life outside, I simply blend in with the rhythm of the sea's breath…

True peace is present in moments of stillness, when we pause, listen to the rhythm of the earth and the rhythm of our own souls. It's when we let go of worries, to feel in harmony with nature. Sometimes, healing doesn't come from what we achieve, but from the moments we allow our souls to be free. Like waves gently lapping the shore, peace is always within us, we just need to know when to stop and feel it.
