Farmers harvest nearly 60% of the 2025 Summer-Autumn rice area

To date, farmers in Tay Ninh province have harvested more than 157,000 hectares of Summer-Autumn (HT) 2025 rice, reaching nearly 60% of the total sown area. The remaining area is mostly in the ripening stage.

According to data from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the 2025 winter-spring crop, the whole province sowed nearly 263,670 hectares of rice, reaching 98.8% of the plan. Up to now, more than 157,000 hectares have been harvested, with an estimated rice yield of 5.78 tons/ha and an estimated output of more than 900,000 tons.

Currently, rice prices are stable compared to last week, specifically, IR50404 variety is from 5,500-5,700 VND/kg; IR4625 sticky rice variety is from 6,900-7,200 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 variety is from 6,400-6,800 VND/kg; OM18 variety is from 6,400-6,800 VND/kg; OM5451 variety is from 5,500-6,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the whole province still has more than 100,000 hectares of HT 2025 rice that have not been harvested. In the fields, pests and diseases are causing a lot of damage such as leaf blight (more than 1,400 hectares), grain sterility disease (more than 1,700 hectares), and neck blast disease (nearly 900 hectares).

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment focuses on directing the prevention and control of pests and diseases on rice, strengthening propaganda and mobilizing farmers to regularly visit fields, promptly detect pests and diseases to have prevention and control measures./.
