Farmers harvest the 2025 Summer-Autumn rice crop.
According to data from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the 2025 summer-autumn crop season, the entire province sowed nearly 263,670 hectares of rice, reaching 98.8% of the plan. To date, more than 157,000 hectares have been harvested, with an estimated rice yield of 5.78 tons/ha and an estimated production of over 900,000 tons.
Rice prices remain stable compared to last week, specifically: IR50404 variety from 5,500-5,700 VND/kg; IR4625 glutinous rice variety from 6,900-7,200 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 variety from 6,400-6,800 VND/kg; OM18 variety from 6,400-6,800 VND/kg; and OM5451 variety from 5,500-6,000 VND/kg.
Currently, the province still has over 100,000 hectares of 2025 summer-autumn rice that have not yet been harvested. In the fields, pests and diseases are causing significant damage, such as leaf blight (over 1,400 hectares), grain discoloration (over 1,700 hectares), and neck blast (nearly 900 hectares).
The Department of Agriculture and Environment of the province is focusing on directing the prevention and control of pests and diseases in rice, strengthening propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage farmers to regularly inspect their fields, promptly detect pests and diseases, and take preventive and control measures.
