Despite his advanced age, Pham Van Do (Hai Ninh commune) remains a diligent and hardworking farmer. For many years, Mr. Do has been a key figure and a shining example in the local movement of skilled farmers in production and business. He currently owns an 18-hectare shrimp farm. In recent years, he has invested in building a 2,000m² greenhouse to improve shrimp farming productivity. He said: "With three harvests a year, I collect about 60 tons of shrimp, and after deducting expenses, the profit is about 1 billion VND." Mr. Do's family farm also provides employment for nearly a dozen local workers with an income of about 8 million VND per person per month.
Mr. Pham Viet Trung (Hai Hoa commune) is also a prime example of a successful farmer in production and business. He currently owns a facility for growing and processing medicinal herbs (such as *Ba Kich*, *Giao Co Lam*, *Thia Canh*, *Ngai Moi*, *Dang Quy*, etc.) with over 40 regular and seasonal workers. The facility cultivates many types of medicinal herbs, including *Ba Kich*, *Giao Co Lam*, *Thia Canh*, *Ngai Moi*, and *Dang Quy*. Currently, the facility produces 40 products, including 14 OCOP 4-star products and 2 OCOP products nominated for 5-star; generating revenue of 400-500 million VND per month. Mr. Trung stated: "Recognizing the province's potential for developing medicinal herbs, I am determined to establish a cultivation area and invest in a GMP-WHO certified processing plant, aiming for commercial production. I am currently collaborating with households and cooperatives to expand the medicinal herb cultivation area to neighboring localities."
In Trai Thu village (Binh Khe ward), Mr. Diep Van Dai is one of the exemplary farmers with great determination. Recognizing the superior productivity and meat quality of the 3B cattle breed, which is well-suited to local farming conditions, Mr. Dai invested in sturdy barns and learned techniques from large farms inside and outside the province to develop his farming model. From a few initial breeding cows, his family now maintains a herd of about 25 breeding cows, selling 15-17 commercial cows annually, earning approximately 500 million VND. Mr. Dai said: "I regularly participate in livestock farming training courses organized by the local authorities and online forums on 3B cattle farming to learn more experience and apply it more effectively."
Behind every successful agricultural production and business model is the timely support and guidance of Party committees, government agencies, and the political system from the provincial to the grassroots level. From formulating mechanisms and policies to concretizing them through practical programs and projects, Quang Ninh has created a favorable environment for farmers to develop their sense of ownership, entrepreneurship, and wealth creation from their own homeland. Notably, the Farmers' Association at all levels plays a key role in connecting and spreading the aspiration for wealth creation among farmers through organizing technical training courses on production, supporting farmers in accessing preferential loans from the Farmers' Support Fund, and unsecured loans from banks. Youth organizations, women's associations, veterans' associations, etc., extensively implement emulation movements linked to household economic development, promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship among rural youth and women.
The province's specialized agencies are actively implementing agricultural extension programs, planning concentrated production areas, guiding production processes according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards; orienting crop and livestock structures to suit local conditions and market demands; and accompanying farmers from seeds and techniques to product output… This helps farmers feel secure in striving to prosper on their homeland.
