People's Artist Thanh Ngoan speaks at the launch ceremony of the Center for the Preservation of Traditional Vietnamese Arts within the framework of the Vietnam OCOP Festival 2025.
In the final days of the year, within the sacred and historically rich space of Thang Long Imperial Citadel ( Hanoi ), the inauguration of the Center for the Preservation of Traditional Vietnamese Arts took place solemnly as part of the Vietnam OCOP Festival 2025.
Thanh Ngoan - Three times placed in a leadership position
At this event, People's Artist Thanh Ngoan was officially presented with the appointment decision to the position of Deputy Director and Head of the Center – a new milestone, continuing the enduring journey of an artist who has dedicated his entire life to traditional art.
This is the third time People's Artist Thanh Ngoan has held the position of Director of an art unit. Previously, in 2012, she was appointed Director of the Vietnam Cheo Theatre and had a remarkable 10-year leadership career before retiring in 2022.

People's Artist Thanh Ngoan officially received the appointment decision to hold the position of Deputy Director and concurrently Director of the Center for Preservation of Traditional Vietnamese Performing Arts.
In March 2025, she continued to assume the responsibility of Director of the Center for the Preservation of Traditional Vietnamese Performing Arts, founded by the Association for the Protection of the Rights of Vietnamese Performing Artists (APPA). And this time, in a new organizational space, with a broader interdisciplinary vision, People's Artist Thanh Ngoan once again "positioned herself to move forward".
Thanh Ngoan - A great source of happiness
Speaking at the launch ceremony, People's Artist Thanh Ngoan emotionally shared: "In the space steeped in the historical depth of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, I am extremely proud to stand here – amidst the bustling rhythm of the Vietnam OCOP Festival 2025, a place that honors the finest aspects of Vietnamese land and people."
Being entrusted with the important responsibilities of Deputy Director and Director of the Center by the leadership of the Institute of Economics , Culture and Arts is a great honor for me, but also a great responsibility."
According to People's Artist Thanh Ngoan, what makes her happy is the collective recognition of her tireless efforts, and also the opportunity for her to continue striving and learning on the foundation of organization, science, and economics to realize her long-standing concerns about national heritage.

Artists, colleagues, and relatives congratulate People's Artist Thanh Ngoan.
The Center for the Preservation of Traditional Vietnamese Arts – a unit under the Institute of Economics, Culture and Arts – is expected to become a focal point of interdisciplinary thinking, where economics, culture, and art do not stand alone but complement each other.
"I believe that when the economy, culture, and arts are closely coordinated, we will create a synergistic force. Traditional Vietnamese art will never lag behind, but will always accompany and empower Vietnamese brands to reach the world," she emphasized.
Thanh Ngoan - "preserved in life"
The core of the mission pursued by People's Artist Thanh Ngoan and her colleagues is the concept of "preservation within life," not closed-off preservation.
Accordingly, the Center aims to use traditional art to enhance the symbolic value of agricultural products and traditional crafts; and at the same time, utilize economic resources from OCOP programs to nurture and revive art forms that are at risk of disappearing.
In the coming period, the Center will focus on three main pillars: Research and digitization of heritage, helping traditional art become more accessible to the digital world and young people; Training, teaching, and connecting veteran artisans with the next generation right in OCOP craft villages; and Developing in-depth art programs linked to local experiential tourism – with the "Thang Long Impressions – The Quintessence of Art" program at the Vietnam OCOP Festival 2025 considered the first "launching point".

People's Artist Tâm Chính presents flowers to congratulate People's Artist Thanh Ngoan.
People's Artist Thanh Ngoan stated that, with 10 years of experience in management at the Vietnam Cheo Theatre, she is confident enough to accompany the Center in this new phase.
"I've always been in a state of not retiring. It's my love for traditional art that gives me the strength to feel I still have a responsibility to our national cultural heritage. Preservation isn't about packing it up and putting it away, but about continuing to spread it into a new era."
