People's Artist Xuan Quan's real name is Tran Van Quan, born on February 23, 1961, in Ho Chi Minh City. Since childhood, he had a talent for singing, so at the age of 11, his mother let him follow his father's career as a singer.
When he was a little older, he studied at the School of Stage Arts 2 (now the University of Stage and Cinema, Ho Chi Minh City). After graduating, he actively worked in the profession and joined the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, working professionally until his retirement.
Pursuing the art of hát bội from a very young age, People's Artist Xuân Quan has made every effort to preserve and promote the family tradition, with three generations attached to the art of hát bội.
In art, he has many outstanding roles, leaving an impression on the audience. These are the roles that have won Gold medals at professional opera festivals and performances: the role of Nguyen Trai in the play Le Chi Vien Case , the role of Trinh An in the play Tram Trinh An, the role of Du Hong in the play Luu Kim Dinh Sat Tu Mon... these outstanding roles have contributed to creating the name of People's Artist Xuan Quan .

Since 2000, in addition to performing on stage, People's Artist Xuan Quan and other artists have strived to teach and impart knowledge, skills, and performance experience to many generations of young artists and actors of the theater.

Having been retired for several years, except when his health does not allow it, whenever he has the chance, People's Artist Xuan Quan returns to the theater to contribute his strength and talent, building a team of young professionals for the art house that he has been attached to all his life.
The funeral of People's Artist Xuan Quan was held at his home in Tan Hung Thuan Ward, District 12. The burial ceremony was at 5:00 a.m. on March 30. The funeral was at 2:00 p.m. on April 1, after which the coffin was cremated at Binh Hung Hoa Cremation Center.
