Ten days prior, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh experienced shortness of breath and was taken to the hospital. Her health subsequently deteriorated. Despite the dedicated efforts of the doctors and nurses, the artist did not survive and passed away at 11:30 AM on September 1, 2025, at the age of 52.

Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh was born in 1974 in Ho Chi Minh City. From a young age, she loved Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera). When she heard that the Stage Arts School II (now the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Film) was recruiting students, Ngoc Trinh chose to apply to fulfill her dream of shining on stage.

In 1994, Ngoc Trinh was admitted to the 15th class of the drama acting major. In her second year, she was invited by Meritorious Artist Bach Lan, who was then the Director of the City's Young Drama Troupe, to join the troupe and play several leading roles in plays such as "My Hoai Thu ," " Female Student , " and "Hoa Thien Ly on High."

In 1997, after graduating, she joined the 135 Hai Ba Trung Theater and began her career with minor roles. When the 5B Theater staged the play "Our House ," director Hong Van chose Ngoc Trinh to play Bich Hong, replacing actress Hong Dao, who had recently emigrated to the United States. During this time, Ngoc Trinh performed in both dramatic plays at the 5B Theater and comedies at the 135 Hai Ba Trung Theater.

From 2000 to 2004, Ngoc Trinh was an actress at the Idecaf Theater. In 2004, she moved to the Tran Cao Van Theater, founded by artists Minh Nhi and Quoc Thao. Also in that year, Ngoc Trinh participated in the television drama "Basket of Love" and began a relationship with producer Kim Se Hyuk, who later became her husband.

In 2005, the actress, along with her co-stars Le Giang, Huy Cuong, and Thai Minh Nhien, formed the Le Giang - Ngoc Trinh Comedy Group. During this time, in addition to stage acting, Ngoc Trinh also participated in television plays, acted in long-running series, and worked as a presenter for Ho Chi Minh City Television.

In 2006, the actress took on the lead role in the television series "Mùi ngò gai" (The Scent of Coriander). The series marked a successful turning point in Ngoc Trinh's career, but due to health reasons, she only participated in the first two parts. Once her health recovered, she accepted a role in the long-running series "Hoa cỏ dại" (Wildflowers) produced by Minh Phuong Film Company.

In 2007, Ngoc Trinh won the Mai Vang Award for Best Comedic Actress for her role as Xang in the play "Dancing Heart".

Since 2009, Ngoc Trinh has worked as an actress at the Youth World Theatre, playing a wider range of roles, including the notable role of Be Ba in the play "Life as You Wish " directed by Bui Quoc Bao. This role also earned her a Gold Medal at the National Professional Theatre Festival in 2012. To further her artistic development, she ventured into acting, taking responsibility for translating and directing the play " The Lying Lover. " In 2011, she decided to further her studies in Directing at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Film.

In 2014, Ngoc Trinh noticed that the Ho Chi Minh City Drama Theater had few performances while she needed a venue, so the actress connected with and collaborated with the theater to stage a series of plays such as "Only Can Be Love," "The Lying Lover," "49 Days of Love," "Rainy Clouds," etc.

In 2019, Ngoc Trinh was honored with the title of Meritorious Artist. Throughout her artistic career, the female artist has received numerous medals and awards at national professional theater competitions.

Over the years, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh has mainly been active in the field of training, serving as a lecturer in theatrical arts at Van Lang University, a visiting lecturer at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Film, and at other acting training centers…

The sudden passing of Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh has left many friends, relatives, and colleagues shocked and saddened!
