Touching Happiness is one of three Vietnamese films released to audiences during the September 2nd holiday this year. The film intertwines a story about family love with current events such as the desire to leave one's hometown for the sake of wealth, the heartbreaking consequences of academic pressure, the stock market, and cryptocurrencies…
The film features a cast of talented actors such as People's Artist Nhu Quynh, Meritorious Artist Quang Teo, Meritorious Artist Ho Phong, Meritorious Artist Doi Anh Quan, Quach Thu Phuong, Tu Oanh, etc.
Director Mai Long's film takes viewers through a range of emotions, from humor that makes them laugh, to poignant sadness, to heart-wrenching tragedies, and to deeply moving stories that evoke simple, everyday philosophies like "women are foolish at any age when in love"...
"My only fear is not knowing how to attract audiences to the theaters; I lack experience. But once audiences come to the theaters, I'm confident in the quality of my film," director Mai Long affirmed.
"Touching Happiness" features a cast of renowned actors.
For over 100 minutes in the theater, the audience laughed and cried along with each character in the film. In particular, the performance of Meritorious Artist Quang Tèo surprised many viewers. Unlike his usual humorous image, the actor's portrayal of Mr. Sắn brought many to tears.
One of the film's strengths is the director Mai Long's skillful promotion of the poetic and majestic landscapes of Northern Vietnam, including Raspberry Hill, Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay, and Long Coc tea plantations.
Chairman of the Vietnam Film Association, Do Le Hung Tu, highly praised the film's wholesome content, especially its cinematography and music.
"The film's scenery is beautiful. Both the set designs and the existing settings are very poetic. I really enjoyed watching the film. However, it's impossible to know whether the film will attract a large audience. Because every film is like a gamble. The filmmaker puts a lot of effort into it, but whether the audience goes to see it depends on many factors, such as advertising, audience preferences, etc. But I believe this is a wholesome film."
"This is Mai Long's debut film, a commendable effort. I hope Mai Long will go even further. The film's music is excellent," shared the president of the Vietnam Film Association.
Actress Quách Thu Phương brought many viewers to tears.
He also didn't hesitate to share some suggestions , saying, "If the film had more moments of silence, the audience would feel it more deeply."
"I was touched by this film. We need films like this. Films that focus on human values, on love and goodness. The film moved me with its beautiful and compassionate feelings between people, even neighbors, despite their hardships, they all look at life with empathy," he expressed.
Mai Long's film "Touching Happiness" was released on National Day, September 2nd, and is currently being screened in theaters nationwide.
