The young female singer brings glory to Vietnam.

The Asia Arts Festival 2024 took place in Singapore over six days, from July 15th to 21st. It was a competition for musical talents from 22 countries across Asia, with over 1,000 participants.

Born into a family with no artistic background, Kieu Oanh was fortunate to have the love and support of a father passionate about music. He instilled that love in her. "From a young age, I loved singing and always harbored the determination to work in a music-related field in the future," Kieu Oanh recounted.

At the age of 17, Kieu Oanh passed the entrance exam to the Vietnam National Academy of Music. After graduating as valedictorian from the intermediate music program, she continued her vocal studies at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music. There, she was mentored by Meritorious Artist Pham The Vy - Head of the Vocal Department.

Kieu Oanh said she had diligently practiced for three months before going to Singapore to participate in the Asia Arts Festival 2024 and put all her effort into making a breakthrough on stage. It was her diligent practice combined with her determination for the Vietnamese flag that led to her surprising win of a major award. "I am very happy with the result. Winning the gold medal exceeded all my expectations when I came to the competition," Nguyen Kieu Oanh confided.

The countryside of Ha Tinh, where Kieu Oanh was born, is the cradle of sweet and lyrical folk melodies. These traditional folk songs from her homeland seem to be in the young singer's blood, and she performed them brilliantly, contributing to her success at the 2024 Asian Arts Festival.

In her impressive performance abroad, Kiều Oanh received high praise from music professionals. She was noted for her polished yet gentle classical music performance style, which contributed to the youthful and fresh feel of the songs. "I dedicate this award to my family, teachers, friends, and especially the Vietnamese audience who have supported and encouraged me," Kiều Oanh shared.

According to Meritorious Artist Pham The Vy, the gold trophy at the Asia Arts Festival 2024 is a reward for Kieu Oanh's tireless efforts. "Kieu Oanh has a talent for vocal music, especially a dramatic soprano voice. She has a great passion for vocal music, particularly classical vocal music. In class, Oanh is shy in communication, but when she sings, it's the opposite – very passionate," commented Meritorious Artist Pham The Vy.

Kiều Oanh's mentor also believes that with her passion for music and progressive spirit, her student will continue to achieve even more success in her career.

* Besides Nguyen Kieu Oanh, at the Asia Arts Festival 2024, Vietnam also won another gold medal thanks to 20-year-old Dang Ngoc Anh, born in 2004 in Chuong My district, Hanoi . She is currently a second-year undergraduate student in the Vocal Department at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. She is considered to have a bright and beautiful soprano voice and is a student of Meritorious Artist Ha Pham Thang Long.

At the Asia Arts Festival 2024, Dang Ngoc Anh chose the Aria Tosca "Vissi d'arte, vissi d'amore" and delivered an outstanding performance of Giacomo Puccini's masterpiece. The young artist said she had diligently practiced with her teacher, Ha Pham Thang Long, for over two months to achieve the best possible result.
