Aspiration to contribute to Khmer human resources.
Dr. Ngo So Phe, Principal of Claska School, has made significant contributions to the school's development, achieving numerous accolades and being honored in the "Glory of Vietnam 2025" program.
Ms. So Phe stated that she is of Khmer ethnicity and has always cherished the idea of developing human resources for her people. After graduating and working at Tra Vinh University, she was appointed Principal of Claska School – a school designated by the Government as a key national institution for professional training in the language, culture, and arts of the Southern Khmer people.
As a Khmer ethnic minority, Ms. So Phe understands the characteristics, customs, unique features, and cultural identity of her people. This is very advantageous for managing and guiding the development of Khmer human resources at the school.
Over the years, she, along with faculty and students of the school, has conducted numerous provincial and national-level scientific research projects on preserving and conserving the unique cultural characteristics of the Khmer people. The school has also actively participated in international cooperation and cultural exchange activities with countries such as India and the Philippines.
Nearly 90% of students find employment after graduation.
Dr. Ngo So Phe stated that identifying job opportunities for students is crucial for the school's survival, and therefore the school pays close attention to creating job opportunities for its students. Statistics show that nearly 90% of Khmer language students find stable employment in their field after graduation. “The school has partnered with THACOARI Group to provide paid internships for Khmer language students, with a salary of approximately 6 million VND per month and support for living expenses. After the internship, the group will prioritize hiring them. This is a great opportunity for students,” Dr. Phe said.
Former student of Claska School, Trieu Thanh Hung, from Soc Trang province, said that Ms. Phe boldly invited Khmer artisans to the school as guest lecturers. This helped students directly experience the essence of traditional culture, improving the quality of training and competitiveness in the labor market. “Her skillful leadership and practical innovations have helped me succeed at my workplace and continue my studies at the postgraduate level,” Mr. Hung shared.
According to Ms. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, Dr. Ngo So Phe has made many efforts in training Khmer human resources, both male and female. "I believe that Dr. Ngo So Phe will continue to contribute to the development of Claska School and Tra Vinh University," Ms. Dan said.
