These days, contractors constructing embankments to prevent landslides along the Bac Khe River (the section passing through Trang Dinh and That Khe communes) and the Ky Cung River (the section passing through Loc Binh commune and Dong Kinh ward) are focusing on mobilizing manpower, supplies, and materials to urgently construct the items according to the design, ensuring safety before the 2026 rainy season.

The contractor is carrying out the construction to complete the embankment walkway along the Bac Khe River section passing through Trang Dinh commune.

The embankment project to prevent erosion along both banks of the Bac Khe River, passing through That Khe and Trang Dinh communes, spans over 6.6 km; the embankment project to prevent erosion along the Ky Cung River, passing through Loc Binh commune, spans 0.93 km, and the section through Dong Kinh ward spans 2.05 km. Construction began in October 2025 and is planned for completion in 2026. The investor is the Lang Son Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board.

Mr. Nong Van Hiep, a technical officer of Song Quang Rural Development Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, the unit responsible for constructing 1.3 km of embankment in That Khe commune, said: During the implementation process, the unit has focused maximum manpower and equipment, organized construction in two shifts per day, and utilized every dry hour to ensure the project meets the schedule agreed upon with the investor.

Reportedly, the contractor is currently maintaining 9 pieces of equipment and employing 25 workers for production at the construction site. By early June 2026, the contractor had completed 80% of the contract value, and is striving to complete the construction in July 2026.

According to the investor's report, at the Bac Khe riverbank erosion control embankment project, contractors are maintaining 40 pieces of equipment and 110 workers to support production. The value of work completed for the entire project has reached 75% of the contract plan, with many important items such as: pouring concrete for the foundation, base of the embankment, and gabion retaining walls reaching 100% completion; pouring concrete for the embankment slope frame has been completed for 5.1/6.6 km.

Mr. Cam Van Lam, the investor's construction supervisor, said: "Time is running out for the project, and the investor continues to urge contractors to take advantage of favorable weather conditions to accelerate progress. Specifically, for the embankment construction package in Trang Dinh commune, the investor has requested the contractor to add two more construction teams with 30 workers before June 15, 2026, to pour concrete for the embankment slope frame, approximately 1.5 km long, as well as the drainage system and the embankment walkway."

The investor's goal is to complete the entire construction phase of the project before July 31, 2026.

Regarding the Ky Cung River embankment project in Loc Binh commune and Dong Kinh ward, the contractors are also working very urgently. Specifically, on the 0.93 km section of the riverbank embankment in Loc Binh commune, the construction unit has completed 90% of the work and is striving to complete the entire project by June 2026.

Regarding the river embankment section in Dong Kinh ward, which is being constructed by Bach Dang Capital Construction Consulting and Investment Joint Stock Company, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, the construction commander, stated: "By March 2026, Dong Kinh ward will have handed over 100% of the cleared land. Immediately after that, we have urgently deployed work on site, and the management board and teams have activated solutions to accelerate the construction of the project components."

"Following close instructions from the investor, all embankment foundation and slope sections must be completed before July 31, 2026. This is a 'critical' deadline for the project to ensure safety during the 2026 flood season. Therefore, the team of engineers and workers are eating and sleeping at the construction site, taking short breaks when tired before returning to their shifts, and taking advantage of sunny days to focus on construction," Mr. Thanh emphasized.

Accordingly, from the beginning of June 2026, the contractor will continue to mobilize two additional construction teams at the site, bringing the total number of teams to five, with 50 workers and 15 pieces of equipment and vehicles serving the construction site.
