Fundraising through piggy bank savings
Since 2015, the "Saving Piggy Bank" model has been consistently and effectively maintained by the Women's Association of Phuoc Tan residential area. Each year, the association encourages its members to save in two piggy banks to commemorate International Women's Day (March 8th) and the founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20th). Through meetings and activities, members contribute small amounts of money to the piggy banks, gradually forming a habit of saving. Ms. Vo Thi Ngoc Thach, the head of the association, said that the two piggy banks are used alternately; when one is broken open, a new one is used to start a savings campaign, ensuring the savings fund is continuously maintained. From this model, the association collects nearly 4 million VND each year, which is used to provide 16 gifts (200,000 - 300,000 VND each) to women and children in difficult circumstances. In addition, 30 core members of the branch association also save money in piggy banks at home, contributing an extra 20 gift packages (250,000 VND each) to those in need.

At the Women's Association of Hamlet 1, Phuoc Trung, in addition to the piggy banks maintained by the association for fundraising, members actively participate by raising money in piggy banks at home, with 87 piggy banks regularly maintained. Through regular meetings and gatherings, members regularly contribute money to the association's piggy banks; each year, approximately 8 million VND is raised to provide gifts and support the purchase of health insurance for women and children in difficult circumstances. From this fund, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hoa (Hamlet 1, Phuoc Trung) recently received a health insurance card worth over 1.2 million VND. Spreading the movement
In 2025, 65 branches in the ward, along with their members, raised over 750 piggy banks. By the end of the year, the piggy bank model from these branches had collected over 85.4 million VND. This money will be used to set up a "zero-cost" stall to give gifts to disadvantaged women members during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse).
Ms. Dang Thi Kim Duyen, Vice President of the Women's Union of Nam Nha Trang Ward, said that currently, 100% of the women's branches in the ward have implemented the "Saving Piggy Bank" model. The model is maintained flexibly, adapting to the actual conditions of each area. This creates a practical fund to care for the lives of members, women, and children in difficult circumstances. In the future, the union will continue to promote and expand the model, encouraging members to participate in regular savings; and effectively utilize the fund to carry out social welfare activities.
