(QBĐT) - With the aim of utilizing and promoting raw materials from local natural medicinal plants, Len Chua Agricultural and Eco-tourism Cooperative (Len Chua Cooperative) has produced 6-flavor Hoanh Son tea and Len Chua dried banana. With their quality, these two products are gradually affirming their brand in the market and successfully building a 3-star OCOP product.

 

Len Chua Cooperative was established in early 2023, in Xuan Trach commune (Bo Trach); specializing in producing teas from medicinal plants available in nature. Sharing about the production idea, Mr. Dinh Xuan Hau, Director of Len Chua Cooperative, said that he had visited tourist attractions in the province and noticed that many Central Highlands wild banana products were imported for sale to serve tourists. From there, he thought that right in Quang Binh , especially in mountainous communes, there are many medicinal plants and wild bananas, we have the advantage of raw materials to take advantage of and develop production.

Based on that thought, Mr. Hau decided to start developing Len Chua dried banana products and Hoanh Son 6-flavor tea. To have quality raw materials, the cooperative proactively researched and linked to purchase bananas and medicinal plants that local people picked in the forest.

 

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Vu, in charge of marketing at Len Chua Cooperative, said that after purchasing, the Cooperative will select the beautiful, old bananas, incubate them with neem leaves and straw, and after about 3 days, when the bananas start to ripen, they will be taken out, peeled, and put into the dryer. As for the young bananas, they will be classified, sliced, and dried. According to Mr. Vu, to ensure that the bananas retain their best quality and deliciousness, in addition to selecting ripe enough bananas, the drying process must also meet the required temperature of about 70 ^degrees Celsius and be dried within 24 hours.

Hoanh Son 6-flavor tea products have beautiful designs, suitable as gifts.

Hoanh Son 6-flavor tea is a combination of medicinal plants, including: Blood grass, blood vine, be me, kha cuc grass, passion flower and fat grass. After purchasing raw materials from people in Minh Hoa and Tuyen Hoa regions, Len Chua Cooperative pre-processes, slices and dries them, then grinds them into powder and packages them in boxes in the form of filter bags. In addition, the Cooperative also produces raw products for those in need. However, through evaluating customer tastes, Mr. Vu said that Hoanh Son 6-flavor tea products in filter bags are still more popular in the market because they are convenient and have a beautiful design, suitable for gifts.

 

With efforts in production and business, Len Chua dried bananas and Hoanh Son 6-flavor tea of Len Chua Cooperative, although only recently put into production, have been known and chosen by many customers. The main markets for these two products are tourist attractions and agricultural stores in the province. During peak periods from April to September, the consumption output of the Cooperative's products reaches about 2 tons/month, with a profit of 17,000-20,000 VND/kg.

 

Director of Len Chua Cooperative Dinh Xuan Hau shared: “Quality is the top criterion we care about when putting products into production at the Cooperative. Therefore, with the enthusiasm and efforts of the whole team, in 2024, Len Chua dried banana products and Hoanh Son 6-flavor tea were recognized as 3-star OCOP products. To expand the consumption market to other provinces, in the coming time, we will promote and introduce products on e-commerce platforms, social networking platforms and applications.”

Along with promoting the value of local natural medicinal materials, Len Chua Cooperative has contributed to creating regular jobs for 10 workers and seasonal jobs for about 5-7 local workers. It is expected that in the coming time, after investing in additional machinery and equipment for packaging and processing products, the Cooperative will boost the production of Len Chua dried bananas and Hoanh Son 6-flavor tea in large quantities. In addition, the Cooperative is also interested in processing teas from medicinal plants, such as: Nam Da Stomach leaves, Nam 10-flavor leaves, perilla, bitter melon, etc.

Thanks to that, up to now, the commune has had 3 products achieving 3-star OCOP, including: Len Chua tourist facility, Len Chua dried banana and Hoanh Son 6-flavor tea. These products are promoting their potential, advantages and quality well…”.
