Ha Nam commune has the largest guava growing area in Hai Phong city, with nearly 1,300 hectares. Ha Nam guavas can be harvested year-round, but the Tet (Lunar New Year) harvest is always the most anticipated by locals because the guavas are of high quality and fetch high prices. Although the storms in September and October 2025 affected the growth of guava trees, the people of Ha Nam, with their experience in caring for the trees and applying scientific and technical methods, ensured that the guava crop for Tet (Lunar New Year) still developed favorably. According to farmers in Ha Nam commune, this year's off-season guava crop has fetched high and stable prices ranging from 15,000 to 20,000 VND per kilogram. Therefore, guava growers expect prices to remain high as Tet approaches. Ha Nam guavas are popular with customers because of their attractive appearance and good quality. Each year, people in Ha Nam province earn a profit of over 150 million VND per hectare from guava cultivation. Because guava trees bring high economic value, Ha Nam commune has focused on building and developing a brand for its key agricultural product. Currently, several businesses have developed guava into an OCOP (One Commune One Product) product.NGUYEN MO - THANH CHUNG
