According to Manchester Evening News , Onana advised Mbeumo to choose to join the Old Trafford team, although the player also received interest from Tottenham.
Onana and Mbeumo are teammates on the Cameroon national team. MU hopes that with this close relationship, Mbeumo will choose to wear the "Red Devils" shirt next season.
New Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is keen to reunite with his former player Mbeumo at his new club. The two worked well together at Brentford last season. Spurs have offered Brentford £70 million, much higher than the £60 million that MU had previously offered.
If they cannot recruit Mbeumo, MU still has other options such as Semenyo from Bournemouth and Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
As for Onana, he will most likely continue to stick with MU next season. When asked about his future in a recent interview, the goalkeeper only answered briefly: "Will I leave? I don't know, let's wait and see!".
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is keen to strengthen his squad after a disappointing season. The Red Devils spent £62.6m to recruit Matheus Cunha from Wolves, and they are determined to add Mbeumo to strengthen their attack.
On the other hand, MU is ready to listen to all offers for cases like Antony, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford or Tyrell Malacia.
