A few days after losing to Arsenal, Man Utd suffered their second defeat under coach Ruben Amorim. This time, they lost at home to Nottingham Forest - a team that had just lost three times in the previous four matches.
Man Utd's disappointing match started with a goal conceded in the 2nd minute. The Old Trafford team showed weakness when defending a corner kick. Nikola Milenkovic headed home to put Nottingham Forest ahead.
Man Utd controlled the ball with a rate of up to 70% in the first half. They created many situations threatening the opponent's goal from the wing attacks. Rasmus Hojlund equalized for the home team in the 18th minute after an effective central coordination.

In the second half, Man Utd still had the advantage. However, the weakness of the defense put the "Red Devils" at a disadvantage. Nottingham Forest took the lead for the second time in the 47th minute.
The visitors' shot was straight into the middle of the goal but Andre Onana - Man Utd's best player of the season - misjudged the ball. Nottingham Forest's chance came from a sloppy pass in their own half from Bruno Fernandes.
Not long after, Man Utd conceded another goal from a high ball. Chris Wood headed the ball very lightly but goalkeeper Onana and 2 Man Utd defenders were confused and let the ball slip into the goal.
Fernandes gave the home team hope by reducing the score in the 60th minute. However, Man Utd could not score more goals in the rest of the match. Nottingham Forest won 3-2.
