The Daily Mail reported that based on recent public appearances, Mr. Biden appears to have switched to more comfortable shoes to protect him from slipping.
Specifically, a report by Inside Edition discovered that the sneakers Mr. Biden wore last month were Hoka Transports, which are said to be “workplace-friendly,” with a design that makes it easy for the wearer to tie the laces.
The black shoes, priced at $150 (about 3.7 million VND), immediately attracted attention, as observers questioned President Biden's choice of outfit for public appearances.
A CBS News reporter later went to a Hoka store to try on the shoes and found them "quite comfortable."

In light of the reports, there is growing speculation that Biden's aides are taking precautions to prevent him from tripping while walking.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates denied the reports, saying Biden wore shoes to exercise.
Mr Biden's White House physician previously revealed that the president's limp was due to "severe spinal arthritis, mild post-fracture foot arthritis and mild sensory peripheral neuropathy in the feet".

This isn’t the first time President Biden has caused a stir with his footwear choices. Last summer, he wore sneakers to board Air Force One on his way to a NATO meeting. He didn’t wear socks, which caught the attention of photographers.
Mr Biden also began using the short staircase to board Air Force One, with a military aide waiting at the bottom to assist him.
