Russian state television broadcast footage of President Putin's plane landing in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar. At the airport in Ulaanbaatar, Mr Putin was greeted by an honor guard dressed in national costumes. Mongolian leaders met the Russian delegation at the airport.

Traditionally, the Russian President uses an Aurus car with the Russian flag flying when traveling abroad, and this time, he also left the airport in this car.
The Russian President's visit will last two days. Mr. Putin will hold bilateral talks, including a meeting with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, as well as sign a number of documents and lay flowers at the monument to Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov.
Mr Putin and the Mongolian leader will also attend a ceremony marking the 1939 victory of Soviet and Mongolian troops over the Japanese in World War II.
