Mr. Tran Anh Tu retains his position. |
According to VTC News sources, Mr. Tran Anh Tu has decided to withdraw his resignation from the positions of Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF).
Previously, Mr. Tran Anh Tu submitted his resignation from his positions at the VFF and VPF. The businessman decided to step away from 11-a-side football, focusing solely on women's football and futsal. This news surprised fans because Mr. Tu had left a significant mark in recent times.
However, some VFF leaders, members of the VFF Executive Committee of the 9th term, met with and persuaded Mr. Tú to change his mind. Ultimately, the Vice President in charge of professional affairs of the VFF continued his work.
Over the years, the businessman born in 1963 has helped Vietnamese football overcome several sensitive and difficult periods stemming from the general impact of society. Essentially, football teams have gradually gained more revenue from football, television broadcasting rights have increased, and the image and brand of the V.League have improved significantly.
Mr. Tran Anh Tu has had a long and extensive career in football. Besides futsal, women's football is also one of his areas of expertise. Success came continuously, and he embarked on rebuilding the Ho Chi Minh City Futsal Club, and further, taking steps towards joining the VPF (Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company). This is a major distinguishing feature of the most successful futsal leader in history. The Vietnamese futsal team's qualification for the World Cup twice in a row is an unforgettable milestone for Vietnamese football.
During the VFF Executive Committee meeting of the 9th term held on the afternoon of March 27th, representatives from several V.League teams also expressed their support for Mr. Tran Anh Tu. However, improving the quality of referees and minimizing serious errors needs to be done urgently. The V.League is developing, but the level of referees is not keeping pace.
