Mr. Tran Ba Duong is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Truong Hai Automobile Joint Stock Company ( Thaco ). He is also known as the General Director of Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company. Forbes recognized Mr. Tran Ba Duong's net worth at $1.76 billion on March 6, 2018. According to Forbes, by 2016, Thaco had become the largest automobile company in Vietnam with a 32% market share. Currently, Mr. Tran Ba Duong owns $1.7 billion and ranks 1,349th in the world. According to Forbes, Mr. Tran Ba Duong started working for an automobile repair factory in the 1980s and managed the business in his own way. He founded Truong Hai in 1997. Initially, the company only sold cars, later assembling vehicles for several brands such as Kia, Mazda, and Peugeot. In 2016, Thaco became the largest automobile company in Vietnam with a market share of 32%.
