Science and technology are the key to opening up new growth models.

On December 2, at the Binh Duong Ward Exhibition Convention Center, within the framework of the Smart Community Forum (ICF) 2025 Global Summit, a conference with the theme "Acceleration Strategy to Become a Smart Community" took place.

Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of Ho Chi Minh City departments and branches; Mr. John G. Jung - Chairman and Co-founder of ICF; Mr. Robert Bell - Co-founder of ICF; and many urban experts, researchers, developers and international investors.

Mr. Vo Minh Thanh, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, spoke at the conference.

In his opening speech, Mr. Vo Minh Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City - emphasized: Ho Chi Minh City being chosen to host the ICF 2025 Summit is an important milestone, demonstrating the international community's trust in the city's urban development orientation - taking knowledge, science, technology and innovation as pillars of growth in the new period.

“In the context of a fast-moving world , cities that know how to accelerate with knowledge and technology, connect with communities and proactively innovate, will be the cities that lead the future,” Mr. Vo Minh Thanh affirmed, at the same time saying that science and technology are “the key to opening a new growth model, opening a new quality of life and a new governance structure” for Ho Chi Minh City.

The city is currently promoting the dual transformation process - digital transformation and green transformation; building a shared data system; applying artificial intelligence in urban management; developing smart transport and logistics infrastructure; expanding innovation space through a close cooperation model between the State - Institutes - Enterprises.

The ICF Global Summit 2025 with the theme “Smart and Investment-Ready: Transforming Vietnam’s Economy ” is a high-level dialogue forum on sustainable urban development, while honoring outstanding smart communities around the world, hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, taking place on December 2 and 3.

- December 2: The symposium “Accelerating Strategy to Become a Smart Community” takes place with discussion sessions revolving around community leadership capacity and transforming strategy into action. In the evening, there is a welcome party and honors the Top 7 Smart Communities 2025.

- December 3: The conference continues with the theme "Promoting growth in technology, logistics and sustainable cities", with an official opening ceremony and announcement of the journey towards selecting the global Smart Community of the Year 2025.
