Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf's statement comes amid reports that US President Donald Trump has sent Tehran a peace proposal with tougher conditions, indicating that the gap between the two sides remains very large.
The new adjustments in the draft agreement risk slowing progress toward reaching a formal deal to end the conflict in the Middle East and reopen the Strait of Hormuz after weeks of tense negotiations, accompanied by tough rhetoric and sporadic clashes.

According to reports from The New York Times and Axios on May 30, Trump sent Iran a new agreement framework with conditions considered "tougher." However, the specific details have not been released.
The US president said his priorities were preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and restoring normal maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital energy shipping lane that Iran has blockaded since hostilities broke out.
In an interview with Fox News, Mr. Trump said: "The only guarantee I had to get was that there would be no nuclear weapons. They agreed to that, and that's remarkable."
However, Tehran remains skeptical of the claims from the US side. Ghalibaf asserted, "We will not ratify any agreement until we are certain that the rights of the Iranian people are protected."
The Tasnim news agency reported that both sides are continuously exchanging views and proposing revisions to the draft text. According to the agency, no final agreement has been reached, and the possibility of the document being rejected remains.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also emphasized: "Until a clear conclusion is reached... everything said at this time is just speculation."
Iran is demanding the release of $12 billion worth of frozen assets before entering into substantive negotiations on its nuclear program. Tehran also rejected earlier claims by Trump that Iran's enriched uranium stockpile would be destroyed, calling them "baseless."
