PCI 2024: Lang Son Province sees an increase in scores for 4 component indicators.

The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) 2024 report, published on May 6, 2025, shows that Lang Son improved in four component indicators compared to 2023. The province also maintained its position among the top 30 localities with good governance quality.

According to the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) Report 2024, published by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on the morning of May 6th, Lang Son province achieved 69.01 points, ranking 16th in the Top 30 provinces and cities with the best economic governance quality nationwide.

In 2024, Lang Son saw improvements in four component indicators of its PCI 2024: Market entry (up 0.68 points); Transparency (up 1.9 points); Informal costs (up 0.25 points); and Business support policies (up 0.49 points).

Speaking at the Conference announcing the 2024 Provincial Competitiveness Index, Mr. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, said that the province has implemented many practical solutions such as removing difficulties for businesses, promptly resolving requests, building a transparent and honest government, and promoting digital transformation. In particular, the province's four special task forces are decisively directing investment projects, ensuring progress and efficiency, contributing to creating a more favorable environment for investors and businesses.

These efforts not only strengthen Lang Son's position in the PCI ranking but also create momentum for the province to continue improving its investment and business environment in the future.

According to experts, the scores of Lang Son province's component indicators in 2024 show that the provincial government has focused its leadership and direction with many practical and effective solutions; strongly reformed administrative procedures associated with increased application of information technology, creating the most favorable conditions for organizations and individuals to access and resolve administrative procedures; and significantly improved investment attraction, business development, and the investment and business environment in the province. As a result, Lang Son continues to be among the top 30 provinces with the best governance quality in 2024.

The PCI 2024 report, marking 20 years of VCCI's efforts to improve the business environment in Vietnam, collected feedback from 10,821 businesses, including 9,267 domestic private enterprises and 1,554 FDI enterprises. Over two decades, the PCI has not only improved the quality of local economic governance but also reflected the challenges faced by businesses, thereby promoting policy reforms and improving the business environment.
