PGBank has a new CEO.

DNVN - The Vietnam Prosperity and Development Commercial Joint Stock Bank (PGBank) has officially appointed Mr. Nguyen Van Huong as its General Director after receiving approval from the State Bank of Vietnam according to Official Letter No. 9273/NHNN-TTGSNH dated November 12, 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, born in 1980, has over 20 years of experience in the finance and banking sector. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Investment Economics and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the National Economics University in Hanoi. Throughout his career, he has held many important positions at banks such as Vietcombank, VPBank, andOCB . Prior to joining PGBank, he served as Deputy General Director of Orient Commercial Bank (OCB).

Joining PGBank on September 23, 2024, as Acting General Director, Mr. Huong was highly regarded by the Board of Directors for his integration and management capabilities. The official appointment of Mr. Nguyen Van Huong as General Director marks the completion of PGBank's executive board in its journey of innovation and development.

Speaking at the event on December 7th, Mr. Pham Manh Thang – Chairman of the Board of Directors of PGBank – emphasized: “In the context of a rapidly changing and challenging financial and banking market, maintaining our position and achieving sustainable development requires innovative strategies, decisive actions, and a long-term vision. As General Director, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong will face numerous challenges but also have many opportunities to affirm his leadership role.”

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Mr. Thang requested the new General Director to continue to develop his personal capabilities while maximizing the collective strength of PGBank's staff. The goal is to accelerate PGBank's development in a safe and efficient manner, gradually establishing its brand as an internationally standardized bank with an ideal working environment and building a sustainable corporate culture.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong shared: "Being appointed as the General Director of PGBank is a great pride and a great responsibility. I pledge to work together with the leadership team and all staff to continuously improve service quality, promote innovation, build PGBank into an internationally standardized, modern and efficient bank, build reputation, and optimally meet the needs of customers and shareholders."
