A man discovered a dark lump on his nose and, upon examination, learned it was skin cancer.

On October 31st, news from Thanh Vu Medic General Hospital in Bac Lieu reported that they had successfully performed surgery on Mr. PVK (72 years old, residing in Thanh Hung 1 hamlet, Vinh Hung commune, Vinh Loi district) who had asymptomatic skin cancer.

Mr. K. was admitted to the hospital with a dark tumor on the skin of his left nostril. According to his family, Mr. K. had had the dark skin tumor for several months. The tumor was painless and did not cause any discomfort, but it was growing rapidly.

Mr. PVK is currently receiving treatment at Thanh Vu Medic General Hospital in Bac Lieu.

Upon examination, the doctor diagnosed it as a dangerous type of melanoma, and if not detected early and surgically removed, the prognosis for the patient would be very poor.

Immediately after admission, the surgical team at Thanh Vu Medic General Hospital in Bac Lieu performed surgery on patient K. using the method of removing the skin tumor on the left nostril, and simultaneously transferring a local skin flap to cover the defect.

During the surgery, the doctors dissected and reconstructed the outer layer of skin using cosmetic surgery techniques, leaving no scars and eliminating the need to take skin from other parts of the body for replacement. This is a difficult technique, requiring meticulous attention to detail and ensuring the integrity of the skin area invaded by the tumor. The tumor was then sent for biopsy and pathological examination. Currently, the patient is gradually recovering after the surgery.

According to doctors, many types of malignant tumors do not cause any symptoms, but they can be very dangerous if not detected and treated promptly. Therefore, when any abnormalities are detected on the skin surface, even if they do not cause pain, itching, or discomfort, patients should immediately go to a reputable medical facility for examination and timely treatment.
