In Tu Mo Rong district, when people talk about medicinal plants, they all comment as 3-in-1 plants (trees out of poverty, trees for enrichment and staples). In fact, thanks to growing medicinal herbs, especially Ngoc Linh ginseng, many people have escaped poverty and even risen to riches.

Up to now, the district has grown nearly 3.000 hectares of medicinal plants, including more than 1.710 hectares of Ngoc Linh ginseng. In the past 3 years, in the area, nearly 2.000 households have escaped poverty, most of which are thanks to growing, buying and selling medicinal herbs.

In Te Xang commune, in order to help people better understand the effectiveness of medicinal plants, commune officials regularly attend village meetings to capture their thoughts, aspirations, needs, and deploy development targets. development of medicinal plants in the commune for enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups and households in accordance with the actual situation of the locality. The Commune People's Committee has coordinated with enterprises, cooperatives, business households, and households to synthesize the area of ​​medicinal herbs and implement in-situ incubation to meet the demand for quality seeds for people in the world. locality. In order to plant medicinal plants effectively, commune officials and civil servants also went to the villages to guide people in soil preparation, plant treatment, and digging holes; build groups and groups to mobilize people to participate in the development of medicinal plants. Particularly for Ngoc Linh ginseng, the Commune People's Committee regularly cooperates with Ngoc Linh Forest Enterprise and villagers regularly declare the planting of Ngoc Linh ginseng under the forest canopy.

The leader of the People's Committee of Te Xang Commune said: The commune has identified medicinal herbs as a key tree for economic development, helping people to reduce poverty quickly and sustainably. Therefore, in the past time, the commune has developed models to support production development for people, call for investment attraction, and models to associate production with product consumption. Up to now, the area of ​​medicinal plants in the commune is 215,2ha. Thanks to the development of medicinal herbs, there are many households in Te Xang commune that have annual income of hundreds of millions of dong, build spacious houses, buy expensive items such as Mr. A Hai, A Dinh, etc. A Bien (Dak Vien village), A Muon, A Phi, A Bu, A Mao (Tu Tho village), A Hinh (Dak Song village).

For example, Mr. A Hinh's family now has thousands of Ngoc Linh ginseng plants and 4-5 poles of string ginseng. Mr. A Hinh said that his family planted Ngoc Linh ginseng 15 years ago, every year he accumulates and borrows more capital to develop a little more. From Ngoc Linh ginseng and ginseng, his family sold leaves, tubers and seeds, earning hundreds of millions of dong. Thanks to Ngoc Linh ginseng, his family was able to build a house, buy expensive items and send their children to school.

In Ngoc Lay commune, there are currently 267/514 households growing Ngoc Linh ginseng, most in Loc Bong village, almost 100% of households grow Ngoc Linh ginseng. Households re-established into groups of households to plant, care for and protect day and night. To maintain and expand the area planted with Ngoc Linh ginseng, Ngoc Lay people boldly borrowed capital from the transaction office of the Social Policy Bank in Tu Mo Rong district, each household and individual employee was entitled to a loan of 100 million dong to pay the bills. invest in planting Ngoc Linh ginseng.

Along with Ngoc Linh ginseng development, in Ngoc Lay commune, there are about 250 households involved in growing medicinal plants. The models of growing and developing medicinal herbs have brought higher value than traditional crops such as cassava and wet rice.

According to the report of Ngoc Lay Commune People's Committee, thanks to income from medicinal plants and Ngoc Linh ginseng, in 2022, the commune will reduce 63 poor households, reaching the rate of 13,54%.

Seeing clearly the efficiency and the way out of poverty to become well off thanks to Ngoc Linh herbal medicine and ginseng, the people of Tu Mo Rong have made changes in awareness, actively investing in ginseng gardens instead of waiting for support. The proof is that in 2022, the total investment capital of Ngoc Linh ginseng investment of the people is equal to the 5 years ago combined. As for the district, in order to support people to take advantage of Ngoc Linh medicinal herbs and ginseng, along with promoting propaganda and advocacy, from capital sources, Tu Mo Rong district has built economic models. planting ginseng and medicinal herbs for people to participate in production; giving priority to loans to people to invest in growing Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal herbs. Thanks to the promotion of strengths, up to now, the poverty rate (multi-dimensional) in Tu Mo Rong district has decreased to 47,26% (down 12,93% compared to the end of 2021 is 64,79%).
