Party development among young people

Yen Bai - Recognizing the Youth Union as a "socialist school" for young people, an environment for them to train, strive, and mature, the Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union (YB Youth Union) has consistently focused on implementing activities and movements to promptly identify, nurture, and recommend truly outstanding individuals for the Party to consider for membership. On average, the number of outstanding Youth Union members considered for membership by the Party committees accounts for approximately 55-60% of the total number of new Party members in the entire provincial Party organization.

Comrade Ha Duc Hai - Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union - presented the Party membership admission decisions to new Party members at the Party membership admission ceremony of the Youth Union Party Branch of the Provincial Agencies and Enterprises Bloc, on June 30, 2024.

The Yen Bai City Party Committee is focused on developing new Party members.

However, the proportion of outstanding youth union members considered for Party membership is still not commensurate with their potential. The main reasons are that a segment of youth union members have not fully understood the role, responsibilities, and benefits of becoming a Party member; the pressures they face in their studies and work, leading to difficulties in balancing personal time with time and effort dedicated to contributing and growing; and the negative aspects of the market economy, causing a small segment of youth union members to pursue materialism, adopt pragmatic attitudes, and experience moral decay…

Over the past period, the Youth Union of Yen Bai has done a good job in education , through the dissemination and promotion of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and the major work plans of the Youth Union, which have been implemented by all levels of the Youth Union; the focus being the campaign: "Yen Bai Youth Proudly Marching Under the Party Flag", "The Party with Youth - Youth with the Party".

The study and implementation of directives and resolutions of the Party and the Youth Union have been intensified; 100% of full-time Youth Union officials and 80% of Youth Union members have been informed, studied, and thoroughly understood the resolutions and policies of the Party; the resolutions, conclusions, and programs of the Youth Union; the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels; and the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, in conjunction with the continued implementation of Directive No. 05 of the Politburo.

The organization of activities to educate on revolutionary ideals, traditions, ethics, lifestyle, patriotism, and national pride has been widely implemented by all levels of the Youth Union, linked to historical, political, and cultural events of the country and the province. Recognizing the Youth Union as the "socialist school" for young people, an environment for them to train, strive, and mature, the Youth Union always focuses on creating a favorable environment and opportunities for its members to strive and develop. Through these activities and movements, the Youth Union organizations promptly identify, nurture, and recommend truly outstanding individuals for the Party to consider for membership.

The most effective way to educate young people is through revolutionary action movements. The Youth Union has launched many movements with widespread impact, creating positive effects that have been enthusiastically participated in and supported by young people, such as: "Youth Volunteers," "Creative Youth," and "Youth Vanguard in Defending the Fatherland."

In 2024 alone, the Youth Union branches at all levels in the province implemented 2,662 youth projects and activities; focusing on building and repairing roads, "Lighting up rural roads" projects, building charitable houses, playgrounds for children, repairing and constructing auxiliary facilities for schools and residential areas, etc.

Youth Union branches at all levels organized over 511 activities to visit, assist, and give gifts to families receiving preferential treatment, single-parent families, families in difficult circumstances, and poor students who have overcome difficulties to excel in life, work, and studies. During the year, 7,260 ideas from Youth Union members and young people were proposed; of which, over 356 ideas were supported and implemented.

The Youth Union also performs well in supporting young people in their studies, entrepreneurship, and career development; accompanying them in training and developing life skills, improving physical health, and enhancing their cultural and spiritual lives. In 2024, the Youth Union at all levels supported the development of 6 community-based cultural tourism models; 18 youth entrepreneurship models; established 87 cooperative groups, 11 cooperatives, and 11 youth-owned businesses, contributing to economic development for families, creating jobs for young people, and contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the locality.

Through revolutionary action movements, young people have had a good environment to train, contribute, and grow. As a result, in 2024, the Youth Union at all levels introduced 2,143 outstanding members to the Party, and 1,179 outstanding members were admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam. On average, the number of outstanding Youth Union members considered for admission by Party committees accounts for approximately 55-60% of the total number of new Party members in the entire provincial Party committee. Outstanding units in the work of developing Party members from Youth Union members include Yen Bai City; Tran Yen District Youth Union and Yen Bai College Youth Union…

The Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union has launched its Winter Volunteer Program 2024 and Spring Volunteer Program 2025.

The work of developing new Party members not only increases the vitality of the Party and strengthens grassroots Party organizations, but also carries a special significance in enhancing the Party's leadership capacity and fighting strength. In particular, in his speech at the 15th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Yen Bai province, former Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee (now Minister of Agriculture and Environment), Comrade Do Duc Duy emphasized the key tasks of the Yen Bai Youth Union in this term: "Focus on building a strong Youth Union organization, worthy of being a reliable reserve force, a powerful right arm of the Party, a socialist school for youth, especially, prioritizing the building of a team of Youth Union cadres at all levels with strong character, good qualities and ethics; with professional qualifications and work skills; enthusiasm, dedication, dynamism, and creativity; with prestige and the ability to unite and gather Youth Union members; capable of building and organizing attractive movements and activities that keep pace with the psychology of youth; paying attention to the work of identifying, training, and nurturing to proactively select and recommend "Outstanding members of the Youth Union should be recruited for Party organizations at all levels, creating a source of successors for the Party."

Therefore, during the 2022-2027 term, the Youth Union continues to identify its core task as implementing practical activities to create an environment for young people to train, strive, and mature. In particular, all levels of the Youth Union will strengthen propaganda and education work and enhance the revolutionary spirit and ideals of its members through political activities associated with the commemoration of major holidays and important events of the homeland and country; diversify propaganda and education work through various forms, suitable to the characteristics of each region, attracting the participation of Youth Union members; focus on building and replicating models of learning and following Uncle Ho's teachings in all fields, while continuing to implement the "One Good News Story Every Day, One Beautiful Story Every Week" campaign on the personal pages of Youth Union officials and members, and the fanpages of all levels of the Youth Union and Youth Association. The Youth Union also regularly monitors the ideological situation and public opinion among its members in order to provide timely guidance and advise on effective solutions to problems.

At the same time, create an environment to attract and gather young people to participate in the activities of the Youth Union, especially revolutionary action movements, volunteer activities for community life, social welfare, and support for youth entrepreneurship and career development. The Youth Union continues to effectively organize revolutionary action movements and volunteer activities for community life and social welfare such as: "Youth Month", "Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign", "Winter Volunteer - Spring Volunteer"... with specific projects and tasks linked to the socio-economic development tasks of the locality and unit, and consider this as an environment and motivation for union members to train, strive, contribute, and have many opportunities to experience and grow from practical experience.

Through this, creating a practical, experiential environment will help young people see their position, role, and significance; thereby, living more positively and contributing to building a new generation of Yen Bai youth with "pure hearts, bright minds, and great ambitions" to meet the revolutionary requirements of the Party.

Yen Bai province currently has nearly 40,000 Youth Union members and nearly 90,000 young people. This is a large force and a rich source of potential for developing young Party members. Along with the Yen Bai Youth Union's commitment to creating a good environment for young people to train, each young Party member, upon joining the Party, carries within them noble aspirations and ideals, contributing their efforts to the development of the Party, their homeland, and the country. These ideals will motivate the younger generation to strive to become Party members and readily dedicate their youthful energy.
